Have you keto folks noticed how many of us have , Jessy, Jessie, Jess as children? Maybe I'm noticing it more because my is my MLD kid. And this time of year, the name is more noticeable?

"God bless us all, every one!"

Off to church then 2 concerts,

Carol, and yes, I was born in December!

How is he doing height and weight-wise?

I would say its looks like low blood sugar, which would mean more protien

and maybe more calories. Protien stablizes blood sugar over long-term better

than carb. But I wouldn't do it your dieticans way, if I am understanding

her suggestion correctly. If you just give him carb for snack, you will

knock his ketosis and then the next meal, without carb, will bump ratio

up, which could lead to more blood sugar problems. Maybe add a 50 calorie

snack and slant all meals towards protien and see if that helps. But watch

weight carefully after adding snack, we did it with Jess and had to remove

extra calories, cuz she started gaining weight.

Dear All

is doing well but has become very lethargic over the last

week or

so. His dietician recommended giving him a snack between meals,

his

carbohydrate for example from his next meal. But won't that

make his

blood sugar increase and then plummet?

There has ben some talk on the squish site about monitoring for

protein

energy malnutrition (PEM). Have any of you done this? I wonder

if there

may be something to this because is great straight after

his meals

but then he just becomes so tired that he can't even be bothered

to

stand and just wants to go back to bed.

Look forward to your thoughts
