Guest guest
, I am sooooo glad your biopsy is over, like you for me the anticipation was the scariest. I am going to say a prayer that you heal quickly. It took me about ten days to heal from the vulva biopsies and about two weeks until the vaginal one quit draining. I had my biopsies done on Nov. 9th. My tissue was sent to a lab in Florida that specializes in skin disorders so the results have not come back but hopefully this week I will here something. Thank you for your kind words, you are sooooo sweet! I do understand with you wishing that the doctor could experience your burning pain, believe me I have felt the same way many times. It's very hard to live with this day in and day out with know relief, it's enough to drive you crazy. I hope and pray that we both find some relief from our pain soon. Take care and the same goes to you, e-mail me any time you would like to talk, I truly know what you are exper- iencing. Hugs and healing thoughts, Pam

Guest guest
I had this procedure and came through fine. I was back at the office the next day. One thing I would suggest.... The place where I had my biopsy gave me a little one-time use cold pack to put on the area as some swelling can occur to the lump. When I got home, I did my own thing. I had previously gotten those blue gel packs that you put in the freezer and then in your cooler to keep things cold. The latest bunch I got came in a kind of blanket with pockets of gel. I got it at Walmart in the camping section. They were about 6 pockets by 8 pockets (I'm just guessing here). The good thing about them is that each pocket is about 1-1/2 " long and 1/2 " wide. I cut the blanket in 2 pocket wide strips. Some of these I then cut into 1 pocket high so I had a little patch of 2 pockets. I put these in my bra with piece kleenex folded over it to prevent freezer burn to my boob. I was able to keep my lump cool the rest of the day and the night. I think this really helped me. After my surgery (I had a lumpectomy), they gave me an ice pack (disposable which they put ice in). When I got home from the hospital, I emptied out the water and put those long strips of fozen blue pockets in to it. Two of the 8 pocket strips fit perfect into the disposable ice bag. When the gel packs warmed up, I simply refroze them and already had replacements in the freezer. I was able to keep iced down without depleting my ice cubes and without the mess of melting ice cubes. I don't blame you for not wanting to miss the Tobey concert. When he was in Albuquerque last week, the tickets were hard to get. Those of you who have had this proceedure, will I be alright to go to the concert 4 days after???? > Margaret,
Guest guest
am I reading this wrong or is this a warning to enjoy my time left till I see the doctor Re: biopsy I know you must feel very relieved....enjoy your time between now and the next meeting....georgiaElaine Hudkins wrote: Hi all, I had my biopsy yesterday and the surgeon said he thinks everything looked ok. They compress your breast and then after they take the picture they numb the area they need to insert the wire in and then they insert the wire, then they take another picture to make sure the wire is in the correct spot. Don't know how long I was in that vice but it felt like forever. The shot and wire insertion was a breeze but being compreesed for so long was uncomforable. I was a little sore yesterday and slept for 4 hours when I got home. I'm much better today. In fact its back to my regular schedule, I'm babysitting. He is 3 1/2 so I explained that I can't pick him up. I hate taking pills so have only took 1 Vicodin since I got home. Guest guest
I'm afraid you did misinterpret what I meant. I simply meant that I know how worried you have been, and this would be a very good time to pamper yourself and relax and enjoy some of the things you were too stressed to enjoy before. Dr.'s appointments can be taxing, and waiting for results of tests can keep us on edge if we let them, but I'm hoping you can relax with the information that you received from your DR. today. I know many of us are praying that the results of the biopsy are negative for cancer and positive for getting back to the things you enjoy doing the most....You have been through a very trying time and I for one wish you all the best. I'm sorry if my post caused you any grief. It was certainly not intended.....georgiaElaine Hudkins wrote: am I reading this wrong or is this a warning to enjoy my time left till I see the doctor Re: biopsy I know you must feel very relieved....enjoy your time between now and the next meeting....georgiaElaine Hudkins wrote: Hi all, I had my biopsy yesterday and the surgeon said he thinks everything looked ok. Guest guest
well today started early. I couldn't sleep so I was up at 4:30am. I could take a pain pill to help relax me but I need to get Grandson up for school at 6:30 so I guess I'll just play on my computer. The pain is more like a burning so its not to bad. I go to the doctor October 2nd. Sorry for my negative thinking about your email. Most of the time Im positive but the negative thinking gets to me some time. Guest guest
Margaret, Are you having a lumpectomy? When I had my two years ago they knocked me out all the way. I preferred to be knocked out all the way then you can't hear everything that is going on. Good luck and you are in my prayers. I just had a mastectomy in May because the cancer came back. Blessing on you, Ronda
Guest guest
I wonder why they are choosing to knock me out? The surgeon said that it's really deep and that may be why. I don't know. Guest guest
It sure sounds like a lumpectomy to me but the surgeon called it an ultrasound guided core biopsy. My mom had one and she just now told me that she was knocked out too (same doctor.) hmmm. I think I would prefer to be knocked out too just so I can sleep!!! haha.
