Guest guest
had an absolutely HORRID night last night...fever, wretched cough, stuffy head...I spent most of the night lying awake listening to his rapid, shallow, crudded up breathing. His cough was getting a little scary, so, first thing this morning, I called the doctor...in we go for one of those incredibly fun episodes where hides in the furthest corner of the room howling while the rest of us try to get him over close enough for the doctor to listen to his lungs and examine his ears...and we have a winner! Rats. More antibiotic...children's nyquil (who even knew they MADE children's nyquil)... Did I mention how much I hate pouring meds down this kid? On the other hand, the other three are getting better...and it FINALLY stopped raining. Raena

Guest guest
Sorry that you can add one more to the sick list. It never ends does it? " More antibiotic...children's nyquil (who even knew they MADE children's nyquil)... " I did! Guest guest
Raena, I know they now make some antibiotics that require just a single injection for the entire course. Perhaps this would be worth looking into? I have begun asking, " Is that available in suppository form? " But then, Mikey's much smaller than . He DESPISES them BUT the are so much easier to get in and they don't come back out. I am also finding pills easier than liquids. I put the pills in jelly, whipped cream, whatever. It is still a huge battle but I know once he swallows the pill he's gotten the med. With liquids it's very hard to get the right dose into him. You probably already know these things... I'm so sorry he's sick. (( -Sara.
Guest guest
I am so sorry that is feeling so crappy. It is so NOT fun. I hate giving Kep meds too. When Cam got home last night he said, " Did you give him a decongestant? " I just laughed. Amy H--in Michigan Kepler 4 1/2 ASD and Bethany 6 NT " Harmony breeds ignorance. Guest guest
Raena: How is today? Better night, I hope? And no more rain? It is very nasty here. I thought it was supposed to be spring but apparently not. Salli
Guest guest
>> How is today? Better night, I hope?>> He did sleep a bit better...planted solidly atop my face. I think he could breathe better when up a little...when he tried to lie flat, he started coughing again. I ended up not getting the NyQuil down him...he was so tired I barely got his antibiotic and other prescriptions down before he was out... He still has a hoarse sound, is congested and coughing, but seems to feel a bit better. Another couple of doses of the antibiotic before it really kicks in, maybe? I cancelled his therapy for the 4th time this week...including a Reiki treatment on Wednesday (never tried it, but it looks interesting...and doesn't appear harmful in any way). We'll try to get back into things tomorrow. > And no more rain? It is very nasty here. I thought it was > supposed to be spring but apparently not.>> Our first day of spring was beautiful...blue skies, a bit crisp but very nice. This morning I heard thunder, though...boo, hiss. Spring in Oklahoma can get REAL intense, if you know what I mean... Raena
Guest guest
Poor kiddo. Hope he feels better soon. I am a huge believer in Vicks. Are you rubbbing his chest and back? I hope the antibiotics help and he can avoid getting something worse. Guest guest
I hope is feeling better. Glad the rain has stopped. We finally saw the sun yesterday for the first time in a week! Now we have a lovely cold front to deal with. Joy! Ginger __________________________________________________
