My living room is seldom used, and usually clean of toys on the floor, you know how many times I've knocked my knee on the edge of the coffee table???? Your house could be immaculate, and just one little toy soldier or train on the floor - and boom - you'd step on it. What an idiot. You should suggest to Lou that HE hire a cleaning person for you LOL! Did I mention Lou was an idiot? Kerri
Guest guest
Salli, it just isnt fair that something as small as tripping could be timed so badly that the very person you dont want to be there is! Poor Salli! Jacquie H > Lou takes Robbie out for a good part of the day on Fridays. Guest guest
Ugh! Of course that would happen just when you don't need it to. I still think your house is great. My kids crave your house, like some sort of sugar rush. Amy H--in Michigan Kepler 4 1/2 ASD and Bethany 6 NT " Harmony breeds ignorance. It is the dissonant chords of life that lead us to wisdom. Guest guest
You know what would really drive him nuts? The next time he does something like that, laugh -- I mean a really good belly laugh, as if he's told you a hilarious joke. It makes you feel better, and makes him look like someone who shouldn't be taken seriously. B GRRRRR! Lou takes Robbie out for a good part of the day on Fridays. He had planned to take Robbie and Putter to a playground this afternoon but the weather looked pretty iffy when he arrived to pick up Robbie. So he wanted to take one of those plastic cartons that he hates so much, the one that contains all our Brio Train sets stuff (see how irritating it is to have these things in big plastic cartons? It means that you can easily transport a set of toys...) and have them play trains at his apartment. I picked up Robbie and went with Lou into the so-called dining room but which is really a play room. In summer the slide and little kids basketball hoop are out in the backyard but I bring them inside for winter. That room also contains, year-round, a piano, a ball pit, a small trampoline, some of those horrid plastic toy cartons and frequently there is a train set up somewhere. We have a variety of train sets and when one set gets played with less, I put it back in its horrid plastic box and wait until another train set is requested (one always is!). The Brio train set was underneath a couple of other plastic cartons as it has not been played with for some time. I wasn't looking where I was going and I tripped, holding Robbie on the edge of the slide. Lou immediately said, " Yes, there isn't a lot of room to walk. That's another thing, I guess. " and I knew, of course, that he meant it was more to complain about how the house is kept up. I am so angry that I had to go and trip when HE was there and so irritated by his attitude that I could just SCREAM! Salli
Guest guest
Salli, I think your house sound fabulous, and I sincerely wish we had a room like you described. Your kids are happy, healthy and well-cared-for. You are a fabulous mother. I know we've never even met but seriously you are one of the best parenting roll models I have. When I have questions, I always know your advice is sound. We don't even have those nice clear plastic bins. We have old milk crates from Matt's college days. Lou wouldn't last very long here. If Lou thinks the house is so unfit, he can get his ass over there to help you. Remember Grace's motto: If you can't help me, SHUT UP. -Sara.
