That was not the part that needed numbing. It was the whole urthrea.

Did they find anything? I was told that a cystoscopy could be done in

the doctors office with numbing (they numbed my WHOLE urethra though

up into the bladder) and that cystoscopy with distention is done under

general anesthesia because they fill your bladder to FULL capacity

with water or air and see how much you can hold. Something you can't

do awake. I guess we have NEVER been to full capacity because our

body takes over and makes the urge to strong to void.

Mine was just a cystoscopy and nothing showed up.

Lynn, The only time I was filled to distention was when they were trying to

find out why I cannot urinate on my own. I have to catherize myself to go.

In the cystoscopy they did they just found that I had nerve damage. Jerri
