Guest guest
, that sounds great. It really sounds like you are well on your way!!!! I'm glad Josh is with you all the way on this - nothing like teamwork! I have discovered that my sweet husband feels conflicted about doing my internal massage (he doesn't have a problem with the external work my PT taught him). Even though I thank him and tell him over and over that he is helping me, it really bothers him that it is painful for me when he rubs those muscles. He does it lovingly because I ask him to and because he knows it will help me, but he feels terrible causing me any pain. He would never put anything in my vagina to cause me pain, and he said it kills him to see me white-lipped when he massages a really painful muscle. The poor guy! Thank goodness he's still willing to do it, because my muscles are much less painful than they were a couple of weeks ago. I keep telling him how I'm getting better and pretty soon it won't hurt when he does the internal massage. Guest guest
You're right, . That's the payoff for him. When my PT did my internal massage on Friday, it only hurt a little bit. Progress! Now if I could just get my back and butt muscles to be so cooperative.... Suzy --- Bunny wrote: > Your husband sounds like a very compasionate man. Guest guest
My PT is working with triggerpoints on me for the reffered pain down my leg, back and in my buttocks. She started working on that with me today. Next week she will do internal work with the trigger points. Has your PT done any work with trigger points? It might help with your back and butt pain:) Bunny /| |\ . . Guest guest
, My PT is doing internal trigger point work which makes me feel better. She is also doing external trigger point work in the lower back and buttocks area. You probably do not have to worry about this, but I have FMS and when she worked on the lower back, she set off a major trigger point and I ended up at my Rheumatologist to get a steroid shot. It was better in about a week. The buttock work caused me to have soreness but that was tolerable. I hope it will help you. Guest guest
, I am not 100% sure what trigger points are. My PTs press on certain sore muscles on my lumbar area and my butt a lot, and do deep massage, internal and external. Is that a trigger point? Guest guest
Suzy, From what you are describing, and what little I know, that sounds like your PT is working on trigger points. Thats exactly what my PT was doing, pressing on certain spots on my muscles where it was tender and tight. I could tell exactly what she was looking for. She is also going to do some work internally when my yeast infection clears up. I am sure that Tom could answer any questions you might have about trigger points. Bunny /| |\ . . Guest guest
I have fibromyalgia too, but it is not as bad as what some people have had to deal with ( I havent begged my GP to reffer me to a rumatologist yet). I did notice that after she worked on me I had some pain down my right buttock, in a line down the muscle and down the front on the left leg. Not bad though, it went away. Bunny /| |\ . . Guest guest
HI all!!! Trigger points are areas within the msucles where increased tone has irritated the msucle so much that it spasms locally. The local spasm further iritaties the msucle and the response is more spasm. This strangles the blood supply which would normally remove the waste products so even those waste products irritate the msulce and guess what???? more spasm. These points can occur anywhere there is a muscle and are very tender even sometimes to light touch. They are self perpetuating once they take hold.
