Guest guest
Hi, Lynn! Has anyone tested the Ph of your discharge? It's certainly possible that if the PH of the discharge is too high or too low, that could cause an irritation. Suzy --- Lynn wrote: > I am wondering if I am just allergic to my own > discharge. Guest guest
Hi Lynn, I wondered the same thing for a while and it turned out I had cytolytic vaginosis. Now that is cured my discharge no longer irritates me (it would burn as it came out), but I still have vestibulitis and vulvodynia symptoms. There are probably other things that can cause an irritating discharge too, but cytolytic vaginosis is definitely one of them. andrea xxx > I am wondering if I am just allergic to my own discharge. Guest guest
, How was the cytolytic vaginosis diagnosed? What did they do to fix it. I absolutely swear that my burning comes from vaginal discharge, but NO doctor can find anything. Not that they tested, they just looked. If I wear a tampon so no discharge reaches major labia, I am comfortable. I have told them (all the docs in the last 28 years) that, but no one has acted on it. I have had years of remission, but the last two years have been hell. >From: alk2222@... >Reply-To: VulvarDisorders >To: VulvarDisorders >Subject: Re: allergic to my own discharge? >Date: Tue, 02 Oct 2001 20:07:14 -0000 > >Hi Lynn, I wondered the same thing for a while and it turned out I had >cytolytic vaginosis. Guest guest
My pH goes from normal to 7 with no warning or reason. No doctor has been able to say why. Just said to use boric acid inserts which is fine when it's high but I don't have a reliable pH testing method. Lynn > > I am wondering if I am just allergic to my own > > discharge. Guest guest
, I read that the tampon test is a great test to see if discharge is the problem. Also using vaseline or aquaphor to coat the skin so that the discharge won't burn. Didn't say what to do about the discharge though.
