Guest guest
Hi, Seema! Hang in there, girl! Please! I'm betting the naturopath will take a look at the *whole you* and have some ideas about why you are having all these symptoms. So help is coming your way - you've got to believe that. And I know everyone tells you this, but you need to stay as calm as it is possible to stay under these circumstances. I know - so easy to say, so hard to do! But I am beginning to understand the real physiological changes brought on by stress, and they are powerful! So the less stress you put your mind and body under, the better. Is there anything you can do to take your mind off your pain? Can you bear to exercise? I find that exercise keeps me busy, makes me feel good, *and* punches my pain levels down. I don't have FMS, but I have heard about weird burning sensations possibly being related to fibro. A woman on another list I am on has many kinds of burning sensations, and she is looking into the possibility of fibro, too. I'm sure the women on this list with FMS are better able to tell you if your symptoms might point toward FMS. But please don't dwell on the idea of maybe having fibro. Just take it one day at a time right now, and repeat many times to yourself that you are going to get well. Write it down and read it out loud if you have to - " I WILL GET WELL " . OK? You take care. Wishing you a restful time, Suzy --- seema_sura@... wrote: > Hi everyone, > I am writing because I am feeling like I can't > do it again today. > For the past week, I developed burning sensations > all over my body - > my neck, upper thighs, tailbone, arms, elbows, > tendon. Guest guest
Seema, We know how you feel. It is so stressful to be in pain and not be able to find a doctor who can give you the treatment you need. Everytime you try a new treatment you feel elation if it starts to help the pain level, then come crashing down when you realize it has not cured you. The day to day pain can really wear you down, and bring on a major depression. If it is any help I got a lot of help out of seeing a therapist. I could talk to her about my pain and the fact that I couln't talk to most people about the pain I was suffering from, becuase it was in my sex organs. You probably will need to see a vulvar care specialist or VV specialist who can find your cure. It may take a lot of your own money, as specialists like these are expensive and usually don't work with insurance companies, who would dictate treatments to them based on cost. I go to a clinic in northern california that is great, they have identified the root of my pain and are treating me. www.helenahealth.com in SF > Hi everyone, > I am writing because I am feeling like I can't do it again today. > For the past week, I developed burning sensations all over my body - > my neck, upper thighs, tailbone, arms, elbows, tendon. Guest guest
, Thank you for your kind words. I do see a VV specialist already, and I pay for it on my own. I now realize thought that my problem is seeing these specialists. I believe I have all over body symptoms that may suggest something else. One thing that I am going to ask is for my B12 checked - my dad has a deficiency and I am a vegetarian. I am wondering if this is causing some of my burning sensations. Thanks again. > > Hi everyone, > > I am writing because I am feeling like I can't do it again > today. > > For the past week, I developed burning sensations all over my body - > > > my neck, upper thighs, tailbone, arms, elbows, tendon. Guest guest
Thanks, Suzy. Maybe I will try to go to a dance club tonight. I love to dance, but this disease has made it hard. I just wrote and said I am wondering if I have a B12 deficiency - possibly since my dad has one and I am a vegetarian. If that's what it is, then that would be great as my dad just gets a shot of B12 once a month. I know that stress affects it but it's really hard for me not to - I just want a normal life so badly that it consumes me. By the way, I am glad to know you are doing much better!! > > Hi everyone, > > I am writing because I am feeling like I can't > > do it again today. > > For the past week, I developed burning sensations > > all over my body - > > my neck, upper thighs, tailbone, arms, elbows, > > tendon. Guest guest
Hi Seema. I think everyone on the list knows how you feel and understands. You did not cause this by not exercising or eating right, it is just something that has happened. You need to try to calm down and not try to do too much. Maybe your boyfriend can hold you on the couch while you watch tv, or hold you while you fall asleep. When I'm really bad my husband and daughter touch me and hold me.This calms me down to where I can breathe normally. Also I take vicodin and play the piano. The vicodin does not really fix the pain but it gives me a " it's not the end of the world " feeling. Playing piano forces me to concentrate on something other than the pain. Take care. > > > > Hi everyone, > I am writing because I am feeling like I can't do it again today. > For the past week, I developed burning sensations all over my body - > my neck, upper thighs, tailbone, arms, elbows, tendon. Guest guest
Pam, Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I guess I have days where I break down and then there are days when I envision myself dancing once again. I had planned to start my dancing again and graduate with a solo performance and all of this happened. So I think about the day when that will come! Pam, I know this is a long shot but I am going to ask for my B12 levels checked. Apparently, that can cause burning pain as well as immature epithelial cell growth - that is what I have vaginally - the skin cells are shedding immaturely. If that's what we have, then we can get shots for that. Just wondering if you had that tested. Guest guest
Seema, I'm sorry for all that you are going thru. Last March I learned firsthand how stress messes with my vulvodynia and I have been going to a therapist for the last year to help me with stress management and it does pretty well for me. Hang in there sweetie and I'm sorry that I didn't answer this until now. I've not been feeling well thanks to the endo. ===== Kristy http://www.geocities.com/sokokl/kristyspersonalpage.html Hoping to be a nurse soon but for now just a Medical Secretary who does a lot of learning from reading on the Net, books, my dr(s), as well as sharing my own personal experiences. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Seema. I didn't realize you were a dancer. What kind of dance? My daughter takes dance at a small studio but they have some incredible dancers and choreography. I always enjoy the pre-recital rehearsals as the dancers are not in their costumes and makeup and the dance (jazz) seems more pure. take care > > > Message: 3 > Date: Mon, 22 Oct 2001 15:41:23 -0000 > From: seema_sura@... > Subject: Re: Struggling > > Pam, > Thank you so much.
