Guest guest
My MIL has been diagnosed with DCIS, and of course the doctor is recommending chemo. Anyone on the list been through this or know about treatment options? I've already referred her to information about iodine and the breastcancerchoices.org website. KerryAnn, Dr Cowan has information about several alternative cancer treatments. Iscador: http://www.fourfoldhealing.com/Iscador.htm Digitalis: http://www.fourfoldhealing.com/Digitalis.htm Turmeric: http://www.fourfoldhealing.com/Turmeric.htm He also wrote an article in the latest Wise Traditions about LDN for lukemia and I get the impression he is very knowledgeable about dealing with cancer - you might consider a consult if your MIL is open to it. If you and/or she has not seen Jerry Brunetti's inspirational videos about his cancer tribulations here are links to the two-part video using Google video: http://www.eatingfabulous.com/food-as-medicine-video/ The videos can be paused to take breaks and if you have to quit, you go back to where you left off by moving the slider tab to the same position it was in when you quit. Also, here is text from an older interview with Jerry made in 2002: http://www.acresusa.com/toolbox/reprints/interview-brunetti_may02.pdf And here is his biography (on his Agri-Dynamics web site): http://www.agri-dynamics.com/education.html The Annie Appleseed Project has some info on complimentary and alternative cancer treatments: http://www.annieappleseedproject.org/index.html Good luck. Guest guest
Hi, I'm new in this group. My gorgeous, healthy friend documents her own story of beating this very kind of cancer with an all-raw plant diet at www.rawfoodart.com My own site tells about my grandmother beating that exact cancer the same way, with raw plant food: www.greensmoothiegirl.com Many best wishes for your mother-in-law! Guest guest
DCIS IS NOT CANCER. And it doesn't require chemo! go to the following site: www.yourownhealthandfitness.org Layna Berman is a WAPF member and has an excellent show on KPFA. She's had a couple of shows on DCIS. and how to treat it. Make an appointment with her for a phone consult. She'll be able to educate you on how best to treat it. One of her favorite rants against the med establishment is *over diagnosis and over treatment*. Guest guest
I went through this too with my sister (who is pro mainstream medical treatments) and my godmother (who is anything BUT). They both ended up using iodine supplementation. If her MD is recommending chemo, he probably won't look at the iodine research at Iodine4Health.com because non-patentable iodine translates to " alternative medicine. " But my sister's docs DID look at the very same research when under the umbrella of an up and coming pharmaceutical drug. So check out: http://www.symbollon.com/ Scroll down to the bottom of their clinical trials to see research links for IoGen. http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00237523? order=1 Also, note that their first patent (filed in 1989!) was for Treatment of " Iodine Deficiency Breast Syndrome. " Roadmap with the FDA to replace other forms of iodine with IoGen have been planned for a long time. Since IoGen's not out yet, my sister's oncologist finally gave the ok for her to use Iodoral instead of chemo, but reservations. He still pushes Arimidex though (which weakens bones). Sigh. For additional things, I found the amazon list from breastcancerchoices.org extremely valuable, as well as cures for cancer/ God bless! Guest guest
, do you have a link for LDN for this article? I couldn't find it on the wapf site, and I can't find my latest journal. Thanks > He also wrote an article in the latest Wise Traditions about LDN

It sounds very promising.

Guest guest
my wife suggested that you read the book of john r.lee what your doctor may not tell you about breast cancer.he is against operating in this situation only to keep it in check. > > Hello! I was wondering if anyone has or has had Ductal Carcinoma In Situ? I have a surgery scheduled for April 16 to remove the DCIS, but I am opting out of radiation. I started on Lugol's a few days ago and am seeing amazing results already...symptoms of hypothyroidism diminishing, etc. I am feeling so good, I'm tempted to cancel the surgery > > I am curious to know if anyone has used Lugol's as a topical treatment for cancer that's below the skin. My DCIS is close to the surface of the breast - just under the skin. I know taking the iodine internally can cause apoptosis, but would applying it topically do any good? I found the recipe for the Lugol's ointment on this site...just wondering if anyone has actually had success in using it for cancer. > > I was also wondering if anyone has ever requested iodine to be used as an antiseptic for surgery...would my surgeon even consider using it? > > I have benefitted so much from this group! Guest guest
Hi, I was interested in your post because a few days ago I read an article on the internet about mammogram questioning the actual cost benefit. It said that ductal in situ carcinomas may never go anywhere or develop into full blown cancer and those detected by mammogram often cause unnecessary intervention and resulting problems caused by surgery. I think I saved it and will look through my archives. Please contact me separately to jog my memory and I will send it to you.also, you may have heard of Harry Hoxey, he cured cancer in the last century according to his many patients, and had clinics all over the US. Has one now in Tijuana. The film is an eye opener- google film- When Healing Becomes a Crime. What he used apparently successfully according to his thousands of patients, was an iodine preparation. Look on breastcancer altcancer.com (cansema) Also the Canadian nurse, Cassie, (Essiac) used a similar preparation. She also had a small clinic-hospital in her day. Also has a prep for animals, internal and external use. I have also read that painting the breasts with Lugols has been a successful treatment in tumor reduction.Best, Sylvia

Guest guest
Thank you so much, Everyone, for your responses! " Zahavi " - I have been busy researching Dr. Simoncini and R Lee. - I just started taking Lugol's and am playing around with the dose. I have tried higher doses, but I don't do well. So, I'm going to stick with 12.5 mg until I can see an iodine literate physician. I have adrenal fatigue, low WBC, hypothyroid symptoms, etc. My labs should be back this week...I'll be interested to see what they reveal. Last September I took an iodine loading test which came back at 82%. I did see on breastcancerchoices.org that you can have a false normal, though. I'm interested in taking the loading test again. Lynne - I've been in contact with breastcancerchoices.org. The contact told me that everyone in the past 17 years that has had DCIS has had to eventually surgically remove the DCIS...especially if they've had a biopsy (which I had before I knew better). I will sign up for the Amazon group! Kathleen - I have both Dr. Derry's book and Dr. Brownstein's. I found both of them at 12:30 am after I awoke with nightsweats a couple of weeks ago I am positive my issue is low iodine/thyroid. Again, thank you so much for all of your suggestions and help! This group has been so encouraging and informative! Praising Him, Joanna
