Tina, I am not a doctor, but I have heard that there can be really serious

consequences when a women had been curcimcised as a child. You really need

Hi,

I'm 19 too! It's nice to know that I'm not the only young'in with

this problem. What do you mean by 'closed'? Give us all the info

you can so we can give you some advice. And don't be embarressed to

say anything. I think there's a chat for this group, but I've never

used it.

Thanks. The lips were closed when I was a kid and had to be seperated

physically many times when i was young. Can we talk in a chat.

I'm assuming you mean the labial lips 'fused' or adhered to one another (the smaller to the larger ones) and not that they were sutured or closed by other means. This can be common with Lichen Sclerosus, as young prepubescent girls can have that, it's another Vulvar disease which is very similiar with the pain and often the treatments are the same. (Using Clobetasol a steroid for pain and the Estrace to restore the tissue) I had that fusing but the use of the Estrace vaginal cream (a hormone cream) brought them fully back and 'unfused' the labial lips as well as the clitoral shaft. It did take about six long months but worked and I'd been fused for a long time. Hope that helps .

Hi Dee:

When I was young like 10 my mom used to seperate my lips manually with her

fingers. She used to stretch them sometimes smoothly and it never worked

when she stretched them smooth. However when she stretched them forcefully

it worked out good. Even though it was painful. After i was 12 my sister

used to stretch my vulva lips forcefully.

How did it happen for you girls and ladies out there>

Hi Tina,

My lips were also closed when i was a kid ,from 6 months until i was 5years

old .

They were separated physically several times. The last time they went open

when i sunk into a toilet while the seat was up(I remember that because it

hurted)

I don't know if that's related with VVS.Many gyns told me there was no

relation between the two.(But my faith in gyns is gone so...)

What I do know is that when I'm now in pain it's hard to think of 'the

pain' in a rational way-like pain in your hand or so-,because I relate it

with the past .

Thanks Helga. Who seperated your lips? Did they do it forcefully or

softly? I remember it worked only when my mom and sister did seperate

forcefully. But i am not sure

Tina and Lynn,

My lips were separated by doctors,a gyn and our family doctor with a sort of

fine medical knife with a round top(it's difficult to explane it in

english).

Ofcourse they had to force my legs open because i was terrified.

After a few times the doc said to my mom to let it be, there was still an

urinary opening and that would stay open, so she doesn't have to worry.He

would open it when I got older and before i got my first menstuation.

At the age of 5 the membrane between the lips was torn open in the toilet,

after this they staid open.

They never proposed the estrace cream to me,but then I'm talking about 27

years ago.

Even now the gyns don't talk about estrace cream and give you a smile when

you ask about a relation between this and VVS.

Here in Belgium the doctors are very behind on this subject.

HI:

Looks you had difficult times. For me we went to a doc she forcibly pushed

the lips apart. She asked my mom to do the same. So my mom used to do it

like weekly once or twice. And after a certain age she asked my sister to

seperate the lips apart.
