Guest guest
DH and I have decided to get another dog. This morning I asked Jake what he thought of the idea of us getting another dog. His answer, " Bad. " This afternoon I got a call from Jake's teacher warning me that Jake got upset today because his note said that he had a great day and Jake wanted it to say that he had a good day. He was put on the bus crying. The bus dropped him off at home and the bus driver told me that they were dropping him off first today because of his behavior. She said that Jake was screaming and crying and disrupting the bus (this is a spec needs bus) and this type of behavior can not be allowed, especially since she didn't see anything that would make him behave this way. This time she let him of with a verbal warning to me, next time she will write him up (she's written him up twice this year). Oh well, I'll talk to Jake's teacher and let her explain to the bus driver, once again, that Jake is autistic and these are common behaviors for autistic children. Guest guest
Sue, this teacher is pretty up on things with Jake. She doesn't make the same mistake with him twice, or at least she doesn't once she figures out what's bugging him. I am going to talk to her about the bus driver. She already has had one talk with her about autism. Janae , 9, ADD Jake, 6, autism, who wants a good day, not a great one

Guest guest
Janae, I'm glad to hear the teacher is pretty good. Luckily my drivers have been here. Guest guest
from Jake's teacher warning me that Jake got upset today because his note said that he had a great day and Jake wanted it to say that he had a good day. For those of us who like to pick our battles, this seems like a pretty stupid battle to pick. Where do they find these people? Yuck!
