Guest guest
Hi i have a friend who's daughter age 4 is highly allergic to everything. The natural docs have been trying to formulate drops for her to keep her from having as many reactions etc... she is litterally allergic to everything. She has only a few foods she can eat. She winds up with Eczema so bad that she itches herself raw etc. Her mom has been trying elimination/rotation, specific carb, type diets and had all the allergy testing done. Things come back as safe, she feeds her it. After a few times of her eating it she has a reaction. Things that used to be okay to eat are now causing problems too. Ex; poultry was a safe thing according to tests and past experience. Mom has realized reactions happen a day or so after eating poultry so now she doesn't let her eat it. She was on the verge of death a couple of yrs ago which made mom seek out natural docs and start trying to research it herself cause allo. had no answers at all. Mom has been all over the board with it working with nat./allo. docs for a couple of yrs and no one really seems to be able to help much. They have done Kinesiology, bio feedback etc. Have any of you dealt with such severe allergies? If so any ideas? TIA julia
Guest guest
What is she feeding her? Is she giving her probiotics? Raw or pasteurized dairy? Is she off gluten? Is she getting any cod liver oil? Any other supplements? Is the child being vaccinated? Has she had a lot of broad-spectrum antibiotics? When did the allergies and eczema start? Guest guest
My father spent 7 yrs battling allergies one after another. One thing that was extremely helpful in curbing some of his reactions was diagnosing Leaky Gut Syndrome as well as Celiac Disease. His first action by his naturopath was to go on a 2 week fast using a rice based protein shake. It was the only thing he could keep down. Then they started an addition diet. He also was started on chiropractic adjustments that were able to cure the allergies. I can't remember exactly what it was called, but they adjust your back and then you stay off that food for 24 hours for the adjustment to become permanent and your body doesn't register that it is allergic to it anymore. I know that isn't the best way to go about it, but it was the only way he could start to eat. He also went through some Rife Generator appointments. This is where they hook you up to a machine that, well . . . ok, I'll just explain the process. Every living thing has it's own frequency. He was laid down on a table and an electrode pad was put on his right temple and one on his left ankle. Then an electric pulse is passed through the body. Dad said he couldn't feel anything as it is such a small amount. The pulse is tuned to the frequency of the item pinpointed. For example, he was able to get rid of his Candida infection using this method. And yes! It does work and is legit!! Chrissie Mom has been all over the board with it working with nat./allo. docs for a couple of yrs and no one really seems to be able to help much. They have done Kinesiology, bio feedback etc. Have any of you dealt with such severe allergies? If so any ideas? TIA julia
Guest guest
The show " Extreme Home Makeover " last night had a family with 4 kids with that same problem. They said children's hospital in Philadelphia has people who specialize in that. They said it was an immune system problem, but who knows how much they dumbed it down for the audience. Dr. Houston has done work on food sensitivities, mostly to benefit children with autism. He has a line of enzymes that break down all the protein in the food into the component amino acids while it is still in the stomach, so no undigested proteins can get to the gut where the immune reaction happens. One is called peptizyde, and if she googles that, the website will come up. One hopeful thing about it is, if you work up to taking one pill before ingesting anything at all, in many cases after a few months the food sensitivities go away and the children can either begin eating many foods they couldn't before, or at least can bring in more food groups. I think the issue may be a severe reaction to immunizations. The westonaprice.org site has an article by Dr. Megson on the problems caused by immunizations to the digestive system. In one of her writings she said that in those children, taking vitamin A palmitate increases the damage. > > Hi i have a friend who's daughter age 4 is highly allergic to > everything. Guest guest
This is what the story in the Idaho newspaper said about the Stockdale family being on the show, " All four of their kids suffer from a rare disease known as eosinophilic enteropathy. EE is a white blood cell disease that attacks proteins, preventing the ingestion and digestion of food. It also affects and causes disease of the lungs, kidneys, blood, intestines, and immune system. Guest guest
Have any of you dealt with such severe allergies? If so any ideas? TIA julia , My youngest daughter was born in 1981 and diagnosed as autistic at 6 months old. She was unable to tolerate even breast milk. Finally, at about a year old, I took matters into my own hands. I knew she could handle rice and white meat chicken, so for over 2 years, that's all she ate. I gave her calcium, iron and vitamin supplements. Within a few days, she quit throwing up. She started gaining weight, trying to talk and walking. All her skin problems cleared up. The dietary interventions along with a lot of physical and speech therapy and behavior interventions allowed her to thrive and be " normal " . She is now 26 years old, and the mother of 2. Socially, you can still see some " autistic " signs, but she is so much better than any " doctor " ever said she could be. They said it was hopeless and even gave me a choice of institionalizing her. I don't know if this helps, but if your friend can determine something her child can eat and supplement, it may be the answer. The other thing is, when she reacts, say to chicken, is it regular store-bought chicken which is full of antibiotics and DNA from GMO grains. These things are known to be major allergens. I know it's expensive, but your friend could possibly try a strictly organic diet for her child. Hope this helps, Patty

I'd try to find a specialist who deals with rehabilitating the gut. While it's not specifically about eczema, " Gut and Psychology Syndrome " would be a very good book for this mom to read in order to get a clear and in-depth understanding of how our gut microbes dictate much of our health, including their direct link to food allergies. Suze, Can you summarize for us the diet and supplements recommended in " Gut and Psychology Syndrome " ? It sounds like an interesting book: http://www.behealthy.org.uk/books.htm Here's an article by the same author, Dr Natasha -McBride: http://www.behealthy.org.uk/gaps.pdf
Guest guest
Hi there, I've been lurking for a while, so this is also my introduction. I was one of those super-allergic kids. Oddly, my parents never really thought about food sensitivities. I was covered with rashes from before I can remember, had behavior and depression problems as well as a seizure disorder. Doctors gave me all kinds of steroid creams, sun treatments, oatmeal baths, etc. None of it worked for long. As an adult I have chronic excema, and at the worst, chronic shingles and even nerve pain and back injuries. Our nutritionist thinks I may be somewhere high functioning on the autistic spectrum. Our answer wasn't in one set of drops or a pill, rather I had to change my diet completely and had a whole regimen of supplements, including digestive enzymes. It's a lot of work, but boy is it worth it when that fog lifts and the itching stops! It's never completely better, but very close at times. When my system finds some harmony I'm exponentially better socially, physically and emotionally. The osteopath who works on my back told me recently that she'd never seen my connective tissues so stable. By my mid-thirties I'd been tested and came up positive for a laundry list of edibles. I eliminated everything but a few foods when the allergies became more pronounced during pregnancy and after. Our WAP nutritionist started me on pastured meats, saturated fats, and started to eliminate even more carbohydrates and greens, explaining that I'd get plenty of good vitamins and better enzymes, etc, from the pastured meats. She also cut out nearly all sugars, which made a huge difference right away since some of the worst of my problem was yeast-related. I started making my own sauerkraut and eat it once or twice a day, alternating with homemade coconut milk yogurt (not kefir, which has yeasts in it). Any time I eat a sugar, I counteract it with some kind of probiotic food. The nutritionist and our doctor also started me on digestive enzymes, L-glutamine and extremely high doses of probiotic, specifically lactobaccilus rhamnosis, which targets skin. My daughter takes probiotics twice a day with L-glutamine, as well. I take milk thistle drops twice a day for liver function. My daughter is still nursing, or the doctor (she's an ND) would have me do a liver cleanse. Initially I was on a course of homeopathics, including something called Notatum, which appeared to take down the inflammation somewhat. I'm still taking Apis 30c, which is the only immediate relief from hives and itching I've found. Also, the only thing I ever use on my skin is organic, unprocessed shea butter or Motherlove Thrush Cream, which seems to help when the rash is yeast-related. (I still resort to cortisone creams but much less often.) You mentioned how apparently negative-tested foods become reactive in this kid's case - that's happened to me, as well. In this case, a couple things can be going on. Firstly, the allergic load may be so high and her system so inflamed that anything can set off a reaction in a cyclical way. It's important in this case to get a good practitioner to give her system something to lower inflammation and break the cycle, to take it diligently, probably with more probiotics than seems right and probiotic foods. I take as high as 140 colonies a day. When I'm recovering from an outbreak, I'll take more. Secondly, the test could be showing false negatives. That happens a lot. Testing for allergies has a high rate of false results, both positives and negatives. This is especially true if the person is already on an elimination diet of some kind. One thing that I discovered about poultry (specifically chicken, although I think the same goes for turkey) is that its feed affected me. I found that if a chicken ate corn or soy, that I react to it as if I've eaten these foods. This includes the best organic chickens. In fact, some of the cheaper organic birds I can find at Trader Joe's are less reactive to me than the fancy ones at Whole Foods. The pastured birds I can get occasionally are completely neutral to my system. I also don't find that each chicken is the same. My theory that it depends on what's going through their system at the time of slaughter. I have not yet reacted (that I can tell) to corn-fed ruminants, although my skin doesn't get any better afterwards like it does from pastured meats. I also think that certain GMOs present in both meats and plants increase my allergic response. I hope that helped. Good luck! -Jen > > Hi i have a friend who's daughter age 4 is highly allergic to > everything.
