Guest guest
Well today officially is the start of week 2 for me. I am down a whopping 6 TENTHS of one pound...UGH! I am frustrated to say the least. I have been following this pretty much to a T, with some very slight "cheats", but nothing major. Plus I have been walking every morning. It is discouraging, because I know when I do weight watchers, I typically lose 5 pounds in the first week, then 1-2 pounds after that. I really think for me it is just too much. I have followed the plan and eaten until I was full, not stuffed. I have had snacks before I was hungry. I have been drinking at least 4 12oz glasses of water a day...I know I need to up that a bit. I have not really been hungry on this diet at all...which is a good thing, but I'm also not losing any weight! Contrary to what many of you say, I am in this for weight loss, NOT a lifetime change...I really felt I ate fairly healthy before, with a mix of whole grains, veggies, fruits, and meats. Except for the sweets, which I did eat in abundance. Now I haven't had any sweets for one week, and you would think that alone would show a significant weight loss! (I generally eat ice cream every day!) That and the chocolate milk...I am a chocolate milk addict, and was drinking 3-4 glasses of it a day! You'd think giving up that alone would be worth one pound!!! Anyway, I have decided to continue on phase 1, but I am also going to count points, as per weight watchers. It is more an experiment than anything, to see if I am overeating by their program. I know sometimes I have overindulged in cashews and such, maybe the salt is getting to me too. I have 40 pounds to lose by almost any table you look at, so I know it isn't that I don't have much to lose, that is causing the slow weight loss. On the positive note, I actually feel really good now. Still a little tired, but I haven't been getting much sleep due to my schedule. The slight lightheadedness is gone, and with the exercise and all, I feel GREAT. If only the scale would show something! I know not to be a slave to the scale, but I know I am not noticing anything with the way my clothes fit either. Maybe I am being too anxious after just one week, but I really expect to see a change in the very first week. I know plateaus will come, but I would expect them later! I really thank all you on these boards for the support and the recipes and such! We have actually really enjoyed most of the recipes in our entire family, and will definitely add them to our permanent cookbook!
