withdrawal holidays (w/response)

<<hi, i am now on 1/4 of my initial dose of effexor that was 150mg. i have

started my journey in november 2007.

at the moment i have decided to have what i call " a withdrawal holidays " . i did

something similar last year. when i reached half of my initial dose i took two

months break to prepare myself for next step. as it worked well i am doing the

same this time.

is there anything i need to follow in this, hopefully last, step? i hear many

stories how difficult it is in the end and i am a bit worried. can i make any

special preparations? or just carry on the way i have done so far?

does the 5-10% rule relate to the initial dose or to the dose i am now on? so i

should plan 5-10% of 37.5mg?

How can you have been decreasing this drug is you don't know if the

percentage is done from the original or current doses? I don't understand hows

you got this far and are now asking this question. Please explain.

For everyone -- the 5-10% is figured on whatever dose you are taking when you

are ready for your next reduction. If you are to always do 5-10% of the

ORIGINAL dose you'll find yourself having unnecessary problems from coming off

the drug too quickly.
