Yay! I had a good doctor visit yesterday! Remember, I said I was under

lots of stress when I had my HaBc1 test? My daughter stopped bringing my

little granddaughter over here everyday and I was lost without her. Was

real upset for a month or two. Anyway, I had the HaBc1 test in the middle

of all this and I really expected it to be high. It was just 5.9! Anyway,

my doctor is new and I guess she hasn't seen a lot of diabetics. She said

my HaBc1 is lower than any diabetic she's seen. Also, she cut my glipizide

in half. Now I take 5 mg a day instead of 10. She said we can go back to

10 mg if my numbers start creeping up. That's all I wanted...a chance to

control it with less medicine. She said if I lost weight, I might not even

need it at all. I've lost about 20 pounds since I was diagnosed, so I AM

losing, but it's so slow. I eat okay (I can't cheat on my H1!), so I think

I'm just not active

enough. My stroke really slowed me down. But now that the weather is

getting nice, I've been working in the yard for an hour everyday. Thank

goodness, I can walk with a walker. It has a big basket on it, so I can

haul branches out front. Wish me luck that my numbers stay good and that my

next HaBc1 test is *at least* 5.9! ;)

Luv,

Jeannie
