Guest guest
Hi All, The shows they have, including this one, on contortionists do show only one side of the story. That's the thing that pisses me off more than anything. I am a person who thrives on information and for something to not even suggest that there is more to this than is being shown really gets me. This is the what the world has turned in to though and I think it's all about money and power. Show/tell what's going to make you money or give you power and that's all. I'll stop myself before I go off on a REAL rant! :-)) Anyway - I have a theory about the whole contortionists thing that I would like to share. It all hinges around tendons. I think everyone here at one time or another has had a doctor say to them " all you have to do is build up the muscle around the joint " . This rarely he works for any of us, but it has worked for these contortionists. I think it is because they start building the muscles before the tendons are inflamed. Once the tendons are inflamed you can not build up the muscles without pain or possibly causing damage. Also by the time the tendons are inflammed there is probably already damage to the joints themselves. This is just my theory on the matter. It stems from being a weight lifter on and off from around the age of 14 to my early 20's (unfortunately not often enough nor early enough to support or dispell my theory). Once EDS hit bad I could not fix it by working out. With all my training I could not find anything I could do, even isometrics, that didn't cause pain or joint locking. So that's my 2 cents :-))) Hugs, HEDS, New Jersey, USA
