Guest guest
Does anyone know of a pedometer or I guess an odometer that is made for wheelchairs to measure distance traveled. I know its a strange question but I recently (2 days ago) got the ez chair wheelchair and it is so easy to pedal that for the first time I feel like I can get some form of exercise. I want to be able to keep track of how far I go over time. One of my goals has always been to participate in the LA marathon but I've never been able to realistically train and plan. One major obstacle standing in my way is that I need an ankle replacement and am not willing to be the first patients with EDS to have one. So year after year I've said, I'll train for the marathon after my ankle replacement. Its not a realistic goal because I still have to deal with the rest of my body. Now with the ez chair and 11 months to train, I've decided that I'm going to train and use the chair in the 2003 LA marathon. I figure that if I put it in writing to all of you, I'll have to stick with my plan. I'm one of those people who is motivated by numbers when it comes to exercise so I'd like to know how far I've gone. So if anyone knows of a pedometer or odometer for wheelchairs, please let me know and I'll keep you up to date on my progress in my marathon training. Thanks!
