The EP said I should take Altace, 2.5 mg. What scares me is when I began Diovan

(another ace) on the 8th day I went into my first afib attack. Also, I felt

really spacey on it. Do any of you take Altace? What dose? How do you feel?

Hi Loretta,

I am in chronic Afib and also take Altace - my starting dose was 2.5 -

it has been reduced since then. So can't really respond to how it

affects Afib. However, my reason for taking is was an enlarged and

inefficiently pumping heart. After one year on this med, a second

test showed my heart back to normal, size as well as ability to pump.

I have been on and off this drug (but don't do this without your

cardio's consent) looking for what meds cause what side effects.

Noticed none with Altace. Altace is a potassium sparing med - it

might be advisable to check your potassium. In my case, my potassium

is actually low, maybe I react differently. I am not familiar with

your other med.

I was put on oral Potassium when they started me on Lasix. I have a

feeling low potassium may play an integral part in chronic a-fib.

Anyone else adding Potassium to their daily regime?

Dear Debbi,

I have been free of Vagal AFib for the past one month since I started on a

250 mg of Magnesium and Potassium Aspartate from GNC, twice daily. I also make

sure I get a banana and green leafy vegetables every day for extra Magnesium

and Potassium. You can also try sodium free V8.
