Guest guest
Hi - you can get the food lists from the files section to the left. Eat from these lists. There is also a small book called Good Carbs/Good Fats that is pretty cheap and fits in your purse. We don't count carbs, or anything really except sweet treats (75 cals/day), nuts (1 oz), peanut butter (natural only 2 tbsp), and that's about it. Guest guest
Carolyn, I encourage you to try and NOT count carbs or anything else at first - see how it works. You may love the freedom - I know I do. Part of the attraction of SBD is you eat approved foods till you feel satisfied - it's YOUR feeling, not someone else's limt that is being inflicted on you. That way, you are not deprived and you can get all the good food you need to fight off the nasty carb cravings! Guest guest
No counting carbs. And honestly even with Atkins, you are supposed to add back in some carbs, five extra a day for a week til you stop losing, then back off five carbs a day and that's the target you should be at. I think people forget to add back in. But beyond that, you don't count carbs on here. People have said that, eat from the list of foods to enjoy. Other than that, you should always have 3 meals and 3 snacks, evenly spaced apart. The purpose of the plan is to keep your blood sugar level. What this does is keep the cravings away. When your blood sugar goes up and then comes down, you crave bad foods and get hungry. To keep your blood sugar level all day, you do certain things: Eat every 3 hours or so even if you aren't hungry. Eat foods low on the Glycemic Index. Eat a protein with each meal (protein, vinager, oil, and fiber all have to digest first before other foods, so this also helps keep your blood sugar level for longer). It is recommended that you eat a protein and at least 1/2 cup of veggies for breakfast and at least 2 cups of veggies for lunch and dinner. The ricotta snacks at night help fill you and keep your blood sugar level throughout the night so you don't wake up starving. These are just some helpful hints. There's an overview of the plan at both 3fatchicks.com and prevention.com. You might try to get the book used at ebay or amazon when you can. Wish you the best of luck. I did it for quite awhile without the book and the help of others cuz I couldn't afford to get it. You can do it.
