Guest guest
Dear Meera & the FORUM, It is really sad to hear such sad state of affairs. Send Moc patient to find what is really happening. Keep NACO informed. As requested I have given the formula below: Calculate CD4/ CD8 Counts from available TC & DC. Eg: Total Count as reported is 8000 cells/ccm. Differential count - Lmphocyte is 30% Therefore the absolute lymphocyte count is 30% of 8000 = 2400 cells (lymph) Of the Lymphocytes 80% are T cell % 20% are B Cell. So therefore 80% of 2400 = 1920 and 20% of 2400 = 480 If the total T Cell - 60% are T4 cells ------CD4 Cells. 30% are T8 cells -----CD8 Cells 10% are other cells – killer/non killer. Therefore 60% of 1920 = 1152 cells are CD4. 30% of 1920 = 575 cells are CD8. There fore CD4 IS 1152 Cells and CD 8 is 576 cells. Please tell your doctors. Meera I will send you a module to train doctors on pediatric care - HIV related. That will also be useful Dr.Manorama E-MAIL: <pmanorama@...>
