<<Hi ,

I have taken a two year break from my attempt to withdraw from amitriptyiline.

I took about a year to cut my dosage from 20 mg to 10 mg, I've been taking it

for about 16 years total (at one point taking 75 mg) for " fibromyalgia " , and it

gave me my life back so I'm worried about going off it completely. What are

your thoughts on what this condition is, I also take Mirapex @ .125 mg for

restless legs and pulmonary limb movement, insomnia is my biggest challenge

always but really I feel pretty well.

One thing that frightens me is the possibility of triggering the fibromyalgia if

I take the dosage down further but I wonder if that wouldn't happen now since I

have a better diet (though it never was terrible). I'm 50, menopausal (don't

have periods but still have hot flashes), 5'5 " tall, 122 lbs, I'm in a steady

marriage with a supportive husband, have 20 year old and 17 year old daughters

living at home, my life has " ordinary " stresses, nothing I can't handle. I have

experienced depression in the past having to do with mourning and when my

fibromyalgia was bad. I don't eat sugar, eat plenty of organic fresh fruit and

veggies, dairy, lean meat, not many grains (for instance last night I had abt a

1/2 cup of white rice under my stir fry chicken and zucchini). I do have one

drink in the evening around 4 times a week but can easily cut that out, and

would do so if I decide to continue to withdraw.>>

** " Fibromyalgia " rarely lasts 16 or more years. I don't think you'd have

a problem. Be sure to do small, slow decreases. Alcohol is not a good idea

anyway. It tends to dehydrate cells.

When was the onset of the restless leg issue?
