Guest guest
My daughter had this for awhile, she would vommit bile because her stomach was so empty. For her the issue was orthostatic intolerance from getting into a hot hot shower after waking up in the morning. The shower seemed to drop her blood pressure even more and the gag reflex would go clear through to the gall bladder. The vommiting of the bile was a concern to see if she had gall stones and when that was ruled out they decided it was the orthostatic tolerance. Now she does not get into such hot showers. I think she was drinking water too before she went in and the cold seemed to make things worse...... hmmmmmmm or maybe it made things better - I forget now. > From: MTLamar@... > Subject: Question > > Twice this week I've had " morning sickness " as it were -- I get up feeling > unsettled, and within 15 minutes throw up. Guest guest
, If a marginal ulcer is not caught early, it gets really painful and ugly. My marginal ulcer perforated, caused me to develop peritonitis which can be fatal.. and spread to the backside of my liver. I wouldnt want to see anyone suffer through this process.. I had the metallic taste to water, nothing else tasted good either, constant nausea; vomiting and pain. I also had fluctuating blood pressures.. was never stable.. due to the internal bleeding from the perforated ulcer.. Do and I mean do run to the doctor/s office and make them scope you asap.. so you can start treatment if that is what is causing your symptoms.. Take care Hugs, from GA open RNY 12/12/00 Revision 04/18/01 Revision 02/07/02 St wt.... 392 Cw........205 Wt loss... -

Guest guest
Oh, , I am sorry you are having a rough time of it. Keep your chin up, this too shall pass. On the water thing, I found that after my surgery, water gags me if it is anything but Sam's Club bottled water enhanced w/ minerals. I know it is weird, very weird. But it's the way it is, so I buy it by the case and freeze half of the bottles to grab for rides in the car and sip as it melts. It has to be ice cold too. My dh thinks I am a certified nutcase, but he gets me my water! hehehe... Maybe try some different bottled water and see if that helps!Sending up prayers for fast healing! Guest guest
> My doctor has never mentioned anything about a hottub. Has anyones > doctor mentioned that you should not hottub? Hi: Yesterday I visited American Heart Association site. There is some warnings about hottub for people with heart problems (?) if I am not mistaken for this. Check it out for sure, would you? Guest guest
I thought I could not have hamburger in phase 1? My husband wanted tacos last night and I had to tell him no (I would not be able to make them and then not eat them). Sheri > Why not turn it into a taco salad. Guest guest
Sure can. A hamburger is one of the lunches. It just has to be very, very lean. 90% lean, 93% lean? I’d check the book for details. I thought I could not have hamburger in phase 1? My husband wanted tacos last night and I had to tell him no (I would not be able to make them and then not eat them). Guest guest
It's listed in the Foods to Avoid list - I guess interpretations of what " avoid " means might vary. Does GFGC say they are limited? question > > > > > > I was just thinking....I can have tacos without the shell, > right? Guest guest
I would say eat the protein. Friends who have had GBS HAVE to get their protein in first. It will also keep you fuller longer. Guest guest
Basically it's an eggplant puree used as a veggie dip but traditionally flat breads are used to dip it. If you have the SBD book, a fairly simple Baba Ghannouj (there are lots of spelling) on page 281. Ingredients: eggplant, garlic, tahini, cumin. Personally I find this one a bit blah, would add some lemon juice. > > ---Okay I just have to ask this " babba ganoush?? LOL what on earth > > is that?? Guest guest
Hi Ann, I add a good quality olive oil to mine which makes it a little more filling. Also, if you have smoked paprika, it adds a wonderful taste. in Atlanta ----- Original Message ----- I think I spelled it wrong, but it's in the South Beach Diet book. First youroast an eggplant, then you mash it and mix it with lemon juice, garlic andtahini (seame seed paste). Top with paprika. Phase 2, I believe. It is justgreat, but to me it isn't filling at all.-- Ann
Guest guest
I think for children, diabetics and pregnant/nursing moms it is recommended they start on Phase 2. A major part of Phase 1 is to detox and stand up to and get rid of the cravings for the bad stuff. -Beth question > Has anyone ever bypassed Phase 1 completely and started their diet on > Phase 2?
