Guest guest
<<Hi, Thanks for your welcome. I think if I may I will ‘lurk’ for the moment.. I’m seeming to tolerate the w/d fairly well, and my reactions to foods and supplements are not unfortunately in the ‘normal’ sphere due to the underlying ME: I react very strangely to practically every med and most supplements too L. Is it ok to post when/if I have a specific query? BW Rosie>> ** You react this way to supplements and drugs because your adrenals are worn out. Guess how you restore thrm? Supplements --- carefully cchosen, individually titrated doses chosen just for you. As far as occasionally posting specific queries, perhaps. It depends on the nature of them. Most of these require info about you and the time factor involved in responding when people don't engage is more time than I have to do this. You see, if you don't interact regularly, your specifics fade into all the others and it's just like I am just meeting you when you post only occasionally. Regards, Hi Rosie, You have come to the right place to get the help you need. I know will be able to answer your questions and help you. In the meantime, have you read the files? Could you post a 4 day food diary? This will help to help you. Welcome to the group. octrosie20 wrote: Hi all, I have just joined this list having been pointed to it by someone on another list. I'll very quickly introduce myself and the drugs which I have withdrawn from / am with drawing from. I suffer with ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis - otherwise known in some quarters as CFS or CFIDs) which is essentially a neurological/immunolgical disease. I have had this since 1970 when I was 10 yrs old, and have been sunstantially replapsed with it since 1994. I had the mother of all crashes of this illness in 2004 and this is when I was very inappropriately treated with psyche meds (lots of SSRI's/ SNRI's and benzos) and went though hell all that year from the side effects of the drugs and the withdawal symptoms. I was given a very low dose of the TCA Dothiepin (dosulepin) - 25mg in the October of that year which calmed my CNS enough to fully come off the last of the benzo, and whist it helped in this regard it threw up other side effects which I would prefer to be without. Consequently at the beginning of the summer I started to taper this drug at 1/14th increments approx every two or three weeks - which is quite tolerable. Unqustionably getting off a TCA (for me) is a good deal easier than getting off a SSRI or a benzo! I've had a few hairy moments; notably at the very beginning of the taper, and when I took magnesium. I have discovered via my sister (a physiologist who read medicine) that Magnesium acting on the ion channels can block the action of a TCA and effectively plunge one into cold turkey - and this is unquestionably what happened to me..and I was back on an even keel within a day or two of stopping the supplement. I'm trying depserately to get hold of the text which provided this info as it is not available in the usual formularies nor in the product info inserts, but clearly has a risk associated with it. I'm not sure if the individual needs to have underlying problems with their ion channels for this to be a concern or not? Anyway, at present thinsg seem to be 'chugging along' ok, I'm coping with the w/d side effects so far (mostly nausea/ dizziness/ and inability to cope with too mcuh brain stimulation.. but TBH alot of these are exacerbations of what it is already like to have ME !) I hope I can find yet more info which will help me with my withdrawal on this list.. many thanks for bearing with me, Rosie (UK) _____ Shape Yahoo! in your own image.
