Guest guest
You might try www.froogle.com which will tell you where you can get things and where it is the cheapest. Carol What is the best kind of steamer to buy? Last week there was a lot of discussion about steamers and one and two level kinds - for veggies and chicken etc. Can someone recommend which they like best. I checked Kohls.com and they only show a Cuisinart. Does Target carry these steamers. in STLReminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. Guest guest
Hi , I use a steamer similar to this one: http://www.crateandbarrel.com/itemgroups/2246_0.asp Mine is just a stovetop model and it fits on the small burner of my stove. It's not fancy, but is easy to clean up. I usually just do veggies in mine but have cooked meat in it too. I think I got mine (it was years ago) in a kitchen store in a mall. Or I might have just picked it up at the grocery store, I don't remember for sure. It was cheap, under $20. eddieandbailey wrote: Last week there was a lot of discussion about steamers and one and two level kinds - for veggies and chicken etc. Can someone recommend which they like best. Guest guest
I use the way old-fashioned one that opens up like petals on a flower. It has little legs to stand inside a pot, but I prefer to stick something through the little circular hanger so it hangs at the top of the pot with the water. Cost very very little, and works fabulously with veggies.
Guest guest
I have a little basket type steamer which I use for veggies. How does one steam meat? What seasonings are used? Is the liquid water or broth? Or does it make a difference? How long does it take to steam cook, say, a chicken thigh? This is very intriguing. -- Ann You spend your life fighting dirt, and when you die they bury you in it. hayakawa@...
