Vaccination and cellulitis

Has anyone else ever managed to get cellulitis from something like a

pneumonia shot? As the tissues in my arms don't seem to absorb anything

injected into them, I got the Last 2 Depo Provera shots and the flu shot

in my butt/ hip with no problem. I would end up with painful lumps in my

upper arms where the injections were done, seemingly what was injected

sat there and took a few days to absorb

Wed, I got the pneumonia shot in the same spot. By that night my groin

was sore from swollen, hard lymph nodes, so much that I had to sit with

my trunk sideways. I had the draggy muscle pain one gets with the Flu

shot so I thought nothing of it. Gradually my SI joints and hip pain got

out of control and I even felt like I had arthritis in them. The muscles

in the area felt terrible. Late Fri night I noticed my hip was hot when

i was putting the TENS machine on for my back pain. I got a mirror and

the entire buttock on that side was beet red, swollen, and hot. There

was even an inch wide line of red swelling that went around the side and

connected to the swollen lymph nodes. Next day I went to EMerg and got a

few shocked looks. They believed it was from the shot but just couldn't

believe how bad it was considering the cause was so minor. The doc

thought the inflammation had somehow irritated my SI and hip joints and

gave me antiinflammatories. Fortunately the antibiotics are working. Now

that the redness is clearing, the whole area is turning into one big

bruise. Ugh! A real PAIN IN THE BUTT

This is cellulitis number 4 this year, which is about average. But never

has it happened with a shot!

Anyone else?

Joyce
