Remember, in order to lose weight you need to eat less total calories-not just less carbs (although less carb will keep the BG down). You have to lose or gain 3500 calories to lose or gain a pound!s Re: carbs Hi : That's exactly why I won't go totally carb free. I am pretty ignorant, but common sense is one thing that I am blessed with and my common sense tells me not to go completely carb free. Since last Friday night when Bob and I sat down and he did most of the talking for once, my sugar readings have been more consistent and have stayed within the normal range. We came up with a better schedule of meals and snacks that seems to work well with the Avandia and my body. Hopefully this will continue to work and I will start losing weight once more. The end result is that I am feeling better and definitely have more energy once again. Now you know the total number of calories to consume each day along with " moderate exercises " , what ever that is, in order to achieve the weight you desire. If you do this daily, you will eventually weigh what your target goal is. Remember this is a general rule of thumb.
