Guest guest
I have to share two recent e-mails from Oz... I don't know the details, but apparently my parents are planning to move out of their Condo and into an apartment (it makes zero sense to me because I am pretty sure the condo is paid for). In any case, I received an e-mail from my dad which said, " Your mother and I will be clearing out a lot of items from our condo in preparation for our moving. We want to give you and DH first claim on anything we will be getting rid of. We will be moving into an apartment so a lot of items must go. Whatever we give you, no money involved. Almost everything in the basement must go. Also second bedroom upstairs. Plus I don't know how many nic-nacks and glasses, etc. You know, so-called good junk. Please let your mother and I know if you are interested. Love- - - -Mom & Dad " Although there are some things I would probably like because they belonged to my grandmother, I don't want to deal with the situation given I have basically been NC since Christmas save an accidental phone conversation (my daughter accidentally picked up the phone) and some generic conversation we had while visiting my brother at the same time. Consequently, I replied to my dad's e-mail saying I appreciated the offer but barely have room for my own " good junk. " My Mom then followed up with this... " Just want to make sure that you guys are not interested in the 3 piece leather furniture for your basement; also our patio furniture and our gas BBQ. No cost to you guys !!! Love Mom " The BBQ is offer is killing me to turn down...it's really nice...I think it's a Jenn-Air with a rotiserie. But there is no way in the world I could deal with the strings that would undoubtedly be attached to my neck. Do they really think I can be bought with " stuff? " Seriously...it amazes me they are offering these nice items to their daughter who has behaved so " shamefully " in the past. Is it supposed to make me suddenly make me forget all the horrible things they said and invite them over for a BBQ? " How would you like your steak cooked dad? And by the way, when did mom get over wishing she were dead when I married DH? " It pretty much defies logic. JJFan
