Guest guest
Not until phase II cuz of the thickeners in it. Carol What about Fat Free Sugar Free Pudding As a new person to Phase 1 I keep coming up with more questions and here is one more. Can we have F/F S/F instant pudding. The box shows that it is 6 gms total carbs, 0 grams sugars and fats. I know that we can have skim milk and if i could have some pudding, it would be a real treat. I make the "free" jello all the time and it gets me thru some tough times. Thanks. in STLReminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. Guest guest
Thickeners are usually made with flour or cornstarch. Both send sugars levels up quickly. My grandfather is diabetic and can't have them. He had to stop eating at Chinese restaurants because all of his favorite dishes had cornstarch. Guest guest
I'm not really sure why or what they are called. I just know they aren't allowed until phase II. Guest guest
They are derived from corn and tapioca, according to the box in my cupboard. -- Ann You spend your life fighting dirt, and when you die they bury you in it. hayakawa@... Guest guest
I tried the fat free sugar free during my first week on Phase I. I knew it probably wasn't legal in Phase I but I got it anyway. I suffered from major carb cravings for 3 days afterwards. I had to stay on Phase I for an extra week to get back on track. Just my 2 cents. :-) Colleen > So can you have the fat free or the sugar free then?
