I had a similar thing happen to me. I had been eating omelettes and two

strips of turkey bacon each morning in Phase 1. It was great at first.

Then one day for whatever reason I could no longer take the smell of

these things cooking. I was extremely nauseated when my husband

continued to cook these same things each and every day for breakfast.

I still have a hard time with these smells four weeks later. And I can

assure you that I am not pregnant. I didn't have much of an appetite

these mornings but because I am hypoglycemic (low blood sugar problems)

I had to eat something so that I wouldn't get sick. I have had a hard

time with getting tired of certain foods and then not eating them again.

I used to be able to eat the same thing for all three meals a day. I

think I just need more help being creative and coming up with new ideas

of things to eat. This group has been great for new food ideas.

Thanks for replying. You're probably right -- if I could just be a

bit more creative with my meals, I'm sure it would be better. But

it's hard to be creative when you almost feel sick thinking about

those foods. I know I need to eat 6 times a day to keep my metabolism

going, but it's really hard. I'm not a big meat eater either. What's

keeping me going is the yogurt, cottage cheese and scoops of peanut

butter. On the weekend I'm going to try the cottage cheese pancakes.

Thanks,

Devon

My wife and I have been on SBD for 5 months. We've both lost over

35lb each. We've both have had cravings - i.e. wanting certain foods

when not exposed to them. This usually passed in a few minutes. If

it's something we see, like at a wedding (we were at one today) we do

the 3 bite rule. That's usually enough - if you give it a few minutes!

As for the lack of zest, well, I don't have this problem but my DW

has been going through this for over a month. A bit of splurging, SBD

style, say shrimp stir fry, helps but she's still often blah. Not

sure why this is. BTW - I do most of the cooking for several reasons,

one being she doesn't like cooking.

I know this isn't much help but at least you know someone else is

going through it too.

I'm on Day 9 of Phase I.........and I have no appetite anymore.........I lost it yesterday. It's like my normally vivacious appetite has gotten "DEPRESSED." The only thing I ever really want now are desserts that I can't have.......and that only comes at night.

I'm basically force-feeding myself at this point.........and I'm ALSO hypoglycemic.

Thanks for responding . That's great that you've lost 35lbs!!

Way to go!!!

Oh, I like that 3 bite rule. I've never heard of it. That would take

a bit of restraint though. But I could see how you would be

satisfied. I'll have to give that a try one of these days when I

craving caves me in.

Thanks,

Devon
