Lovely,

It is quite likely that you have Pertussis, as this cold going around has that

bacterial component.

An anitbiotic would heal you quickly or you can try to nuke it out with good

food and rest and Albuterol inhaler. Guafensin is not enough to break up the

congestion that is now deep in your lungs.

My son had it for nearly 5 weeks before we went to a doc. He scribed anibiotics,

which we filled but didn';t take. We have just been using the inhalers to open

his lungs up and allow that mucus to be coughed up. otherwise your setting a

stage for a nastier infection.

My son had something similar to you and I tried a lot of different alternative

remedies. Nothing helped. I suppose that sometimes the herbal remedies that

have anitbiotic properties are too weak if the cold has become severe. After 2

wks I decided to go the drs. He had pneumonia. After taking an antibiotic for

3 days he was 95% better. So, don't wait too long if it doesn't start getting

better!

There are some pretty nasty bugs going around right now. When my son (5)

gets one, I give him childrens d-lenolate (olive leaf extract), oregano

oil, Sambucol syrup and vitamin C to bowel tolerance. He is able to take

small capsules, so I buy size 2 gel caps online and stuff them with

whatever I need him to take. He hates it but so far it has helped a lot.

Lovely,

Sounds like your immune system is back on it's heels. If you still

have an appetite, avoid or eliminate foods that can raise your blood

sugar levels, like any kind of refined carbs. I've read that elevated

blood sugar suppresses the immune system. Also probiotics are

supposed to be good for the immune system. I'd suggest unsweetened

kefir if you have any or unsweetened yogurt with active culture.

Get well soon!

Thanks everyone,

i was able to take a power nap and feel a bit better

but the tickle is still horrendous. i can tell

there is a blob of mucus there because when i cough

it scratches it and i feel something breaking up

sometimes.

Bleaaaah! Ill have some kefir i guess, i was

always told to avoid dairy when you have a cold.

Is this a myth?

oh yeah and ill get some olive leaf extract(dlenolate)

well...have my husband get it : )

luckily he is well and can take care of me and my daughter.

Can my daughter d lenolate capsules?

When I was choking on my phlegm I had to cease and desist on the Kefir, but

Kombucha is a wonderful thing in this instance.

Well thankfully you don't have any clear indication of pertussis so

you don't necessarily have it. The cough has a characteristic " whoop "

that follows it. You can hear the sound here:

http://www.whoopingcough.net/sound%20of%20whooping%20cough%20with%20some%20whoop\

..htm

The whoop generally starts one to two weeks into the illness. It is

generally precededby low-grade fever, malaise, mild conjunctival

inflammation, runny nose, and a non-productive cough. If you think

it's likely that you have pertussis, I would see a doctor. Proper

diagnosis takes culture and DNA analysis. I would do an internet

search for it and read up on the symptoms and time course if you're

concerned; if it doesn't sound like what you have, doing so might

alleviate some concerns.
