Guest guest
Joanne, It is not at all unusual to come down with lots of stuff after being hypo and having the RAI treatment. Being extremely hypothyroid for that period of time is enough in itself to throw the immune system out of whack. The RAI does it too. I remember after my treatments it seemed that I would pick up everything for awhile. Get lots of sleep, low stress, good diet, some exercise and this will pass. Guest guest
Hi, It's a little over six months from diagnosis (Stage 2 Pap Thyca) surgery (TT), & I 131 ablation for localized mets in the neck (no lymph). I am feeling more like myself(finally) than ever before as I am doing well on Synthroid 150mcg's. My labs are all good (TSH/TG's). I have no hyper/hypo symptoms that I can detect. All is well in that department. But, help, I am experiencing frequent(2x's in 6 weeks) upper respiratory infections that settle in the neck and chest. These are really debilitating. I get laryngitis (I only have one functioning vocal cord)and lose my voice for a week or more. The chest pain and coughing etc are really bad. These aren't your every day run of the mill sneeze and weezing episodes. My internist is sending me to a pulmonologist and ENT to see what's going on. (r/o pneumonia/asthma) Am I immune suppressed from ablation or therapy? Is this normal? Have any of you experienced similar problems??? The board members helped me through surgery, hypo hell and back again. Please help me once more, I am as always grateful to those who reach out. Thanks Joanne
