Guest guest
I love Jazzercise. They show modifications for people who want high impact or low-impact. They also have Jazzercise Lite for people who want a gentler workout. I find it gives a good overall workout, is reasonably priced, and is effective. I've lost 27 lbs now on SB and going to Jazzercise every morning for an hour. I am also taking thyroid medicine which helped me regain a metabolism. Guest guest
Re tai chi - I do it 2-3 times a week, and love it. I use it more as a form to relax, but does help with muscle tone, etc. I certainly recommend it.

I did notice with my weight loss that the floor is much easier to reach when doing seated forward bends! LOL My favorite instructors are Rodney Yee and Suzanne Deason. Hmm... maybe I can fit some in today while DH is visiting FIL.... My sister, who is not SBD'ing but needs to, is a Tai Chi fanatic. It seems to help her with her various medical problems and is not too stressful on the body, which yoga can be if you are not careful. I haven't done Pilates yet, though I do have a tape for it that I keep meaning to try. I was never fond of calisthetics though, and that is what Pilates reminds me of. <G> But from everything I've heard and learned about the program, it is great for buidling strength. Exercise really depends on your goals. These gentler methods do not do much for your cardiovascular fitness, and that is what most people focus on when you say 'exercise'. I run/walk with my dogs 3x week, weather permitting, and I walk at lunchtime during the week. That is my cardio. I use yoga to help my posture and balance, with the added benefit of a nice long stretch. I need to add weightlifting back in, but just can't seem to find time (The Firm tapes are great at combining weightlifting and cardio work, and are my all-time favorite exercise tapes). In the best of all worlds, you should do all of these different types of exercise. But its very hard to find time for all that. B.
