Guest guest
Dear Members, I've been watching the post board for several weeks but never felt it necessary to contribute to the posts. I'm 53 , been excercising regularly as a serious runner and cyclist since 1981, who had my first official bout of a-fib on Feb. 16, 2002. Since that time, I've been treated with Toprol XL, Altace, Niacin 500 mg. per day and aspirin.. A most conservative approach, but, one I'm very happy with. Since I was officially diagnosed I have had 3 episodes ( which I have to believe were vagal in origin)-- the last one being the night before last. I made it 6 mos. a-fib free and was less than pleased to be upset by this condition again Fortunately, having followed this great website, I was able to put off any real anxiety and just was concerned about anticoagulation. Fortunately, about 600 ft. down the road on the way to the E.R., I converted. I did stop in to my cardiologist for a confirmatory EKG. I'm glad I'm in the group. Many thanks, Dave P.S. My wife was driving ! !
