Guest guest
Hi Beth: Yes, indeed Mayo Clinic is an amazing place. Actually, I sort of work for the place. I work in one of the Outreach Medical Centers in Albert Lea, Minnesota. I work in the OutpatientCancer Center, which is owned and run by Mayo Clinic. The rest of the Medical Center is merely overseen by Mayo, but run by Albert Lea, It is a wonderful place to work, and very rewarding. I'm glad I have PLS, and not cancer. I do have a son that has leukemia, but is doing well on the daily chemo he takes by pill form. Yes, my 7 cats keep me entertained, as well as my 2 year old Westie. He's always glad to see me, but the cats, are only happy to see me when I come with the food. Welcome to the group! and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! Laurel Re: new here > Hi Laurel, > I'm Beth! Guest guest
Hi Laurel! Happy New Year to you too! What was the name of the neurologist that you saw at Mayo? And when did you get your diagnosis? I know what you mean that cats are happy to see you when you bring food! Our too. Typical cats!! We have 4 litter boxes & 3 kinds of food. Never a dull moment here! What are your cats names? Take care. Beth
Guest guest
Hi Laurel!! Thanks so much for replying so quickly!!! I don't remember the name of the neurologist at Mayo that I saw in 1998. He probably isn't still there anyway. Neither my husband or I liked him at all. We didn't ask for another guy since we knew we wouldn't see him again anyway. We did like the Pulmonary guy that we saw. I had all those tests too - of course. And before the Mayo Clinic I'd had them over and over again with other neurologists. Had the usually shaking of heads by doctors & " hmmmmmm " 'cause they didn't know what to do with me! Beth
Guest guest
Beth: My neuro's name is Dr. LaChance, whom I saw in early August 1999, and was diagnosed mid September 1999 after an EMG, MRI Spine & MRI of my head.
