Guest guest
That's a good question. I've never thought about that but I've always bought in the small bags. I wouldn't think it would be perishable but I don't know. >Has anyone ever had problems with mold growth, etc with their Celtic >salt? Guest guest
I buy 5 lb bags and have never had a problem with mold. I normally just store it in mason jars with plastic lids. - > > Has anyone ever had problems with mold growth, etc with their Celtic > salt? Guest guest
I haven't had mold problems IN the salt but have had problems using it in batters, sponges, etc. I've given up on Celtic salt - just using the cheapo sea salt versions from Trader Joe's, which have never resulted in mold problems. There's been a number of threads on this on various lists. Try using Onibasu for further views. HTH. Guest guest
, I emailed your question to the Grain and Salt Society. see below. Dear Ms. Graff, Our Celtic Sea SaltR is composed of trace minerals. There is really nothing for mold to grow on. If kept the Celtic Sea SaltR in a glass container, wood container, or a ceramic container, and all containers had a loose fitting lid, there should not be a problem with mold. Sincerely, Swing Grain and Salt Society sea salt could there be any problems with mold growth, etc with Celtic sea salt? There's a significant savings buying a 22lb bag, but it will take us a while to use it so any perishability issues would deter me. > > Has anyone ever had problems with mold growth, etc with their Celtic > salt?
