Hello

I have to pass this little snippet along...

At the wonderful HSP/PLS meeting last Saturday in MA (29 people), there was a

71 year old gentlemen whose spirit shone.

He arrived a little late, and shuffled in with his cane, swaying from left to

right and back again. But it was hard to notice it or his awkward gait.

What was noticed is his eyes that make an instant, friendly connection, and a

smile that stretches from ear to ear. He was happy to be there, and I

couldn't help but feel that positive spirit and let it reach into mine.

Bill came to his first meeting last August with his wife and their adult two

sons, both affected with HSP. I already knew the two sons because they had

been to both of the first two conferences in New England.

One son, , had told me about his dad, about his positive spirit and how

beloved he was at work, in his community, and by his family. When I met dad

in August, I saw that immediately, and it was a joy to see him again last

weekend.

I pass this along, not just because seeing him again reminds me to smile more

and be less serious (I'm a serious gal intent on my work), but because having

a positive attitude makes a big difference, both to ourselves and how we

feel, and to those around us. We create the air around us, and we can invite

people into our air or turn them away.

During our introductions at the meeting, we asked people to share the #1

thing they do for themselves. The #1 thing was exercise/physcial therapy,

and the #2 thing was to maintain a positive attitude.

Bill's not on the this List, and neither are his sons, so I had to share

their spirits so you could enjoy it, too.

regards,

Kathi
