PROGRAMME OFFICER - VSO INDIA

VSO India is an international development agency that works through volunteers.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced candidate for the position of

Programme Officer (HIV & AIDS) at our Delhi office.

The successful candidate will have:

A proven background in community or organisational development

An understanding of the rights-based approach

Professional work experience in HIV & AIDS, which is one of VSO’s priority areas

Experience of developing and implementing projects related to HIV & AIDS

Worked with an Indian NGO

Fluency in written and spoken English and either Hindi, Bengali or Oriya

We are looking for candidates with sensitivity to the issues facing people with

HIV & AIDS and/or disabled people, and an understanding of how attitudinal and

institutional barriers marginalise them from decision-making. Women, and men

with personal experience of HIV & AIDS and/or disability with relevant or

transferable experience are particularly encouraged to apply. VSO India has an

accessible office.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 15th December 2006. Interviews

will be held at the beginning of February 2007. Only shortlisted candidates
