Lox is smoked salmon. It is very popular on bagels and cream cheese. You can also eat it plain or cut it up and put it in scrambled eggs. Most grocery stores I've been in carry it.

Okay, I've been waiting for someone else to write in and ask what lox is..................but I guess I am the only dummy! I thought she was eating 10X confectioners sugar and had just typed it as "lox"! Now I am assuming that it is a type of fish - wow, I never knew! I am really learning a lot from this group - maybe if I am ever on Jepordy.................

Lox

Someone asked where/how to get lox. Our big Genuardi's market, in the fish department, sells little plastic deli containers of lox ends that have been cut from larger pieces. Cheaper than the per-pound rate for the big pieces. That is what I buy. Genuardi's is part of the Safeway family.

The other thing, there is a good Jewish deli right next to the Curves place. I know they have it -- and prolly other Jewish delis would.

There are a few names: nova, smoked salmon, lox. I have no idea whether they are all the same or all different or somewhere in between. Hope this helps some.

The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones-and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats.
