<<Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I'm currently attempting to withdraw from

Zyprexa. I was using a 10% reduction per week and went from 5mg to 1.7

mg and hit a wall. Nausea, fatigue, anxiety and difficulty sleeping.

I went back up to 2.5mg and seem to be stabilizing. But I'm very

discouraged. I really want to get off this drug and feel like I won't

be able to do it. All my fears about diabetes and TD are driving me crazy. I

want to

start reducing again but I'm not sure I should.>>

** Steve, you'll be able to do it, but you need to do it slowly and in a

very disciplined way. 10% is too much for this drug. Try a 5% decreae BUT---

not weekly. You have to do the decrease, wait AT LEAST 2 weeks, and then,

evaluate how you feel. If you do not feel as well or better than you felt prior

to the decrease, then it is not time to do another decrease. The 5% I mention

here is 5% of your xurrent dose, not the 5% of the original dose.

<<I was put on Zyprexa for an agitated depression and was on it for 11

months and cold turkeyed for 9 months. Had to go back on after a crash

and have been on for 7 months. Also on Lexapro 20mg, Lamictal 300mg,

Lithium 900mg and Ativan .5mg.

Any advice appreciated.

** Steve, you are on so many drugs it is obvious none of them are really of

any use to you. Please fill in the blanks here by telling the story of how all

this came to be. Please also incluse a 4 day food diary and a list of

supplements you take. Thanks.

Regard,
