Guest guest
Hi, you're doing great. It just takes a while to figure out the whys and wheres of the internet. Not to worry. Actually, when we talk about trimming posts on the internet, usually we mean trimming out the post that we're responding to so that the only thing left is just what we're responding to.... Not triming what *you* want to say, just trimming the stuff that " went before. " And if your software makes that difficult (all browsers are different), you could just go to the top of your reply message and write your answer first, before anything else, so that it's at the very top of the message. That way it's easier to see. Pam Date: 2002/07/22 Mon AM 10:47:57 EDT To: GastricBypass-InfoCentral Subject: to Pam

Sort of like sports people getting AF due to high vagal tone. Sotalol can prolong the QT and you should be checked when you are first put on it, and when ever your dose is changed. Brand names for digoxin are Digitek, Lanoxicaps and Lanoxin. They are the same meds made perhaps a bit differently by different manufacturers. Some people prefer generic. Loretta, I looked digitek up on drugstore.com and it said digitek is digoxin. I was on lanoxin for awhile and the doc told me it was digoxin. It may be that one is generic and one is the brand name, or they have been formulated to release at different rates or stuff like that. I was not in afib!!! I went to the ER with fever, hypotension, severe back pain and hyperperisthesia (you know that feeling when you are getting the flu or something - hypersensitive all over, or prickly, or you can't stand for someone to touch you). That's a kind of neuritis in tiny tiny nerve endings. Temps to 102 and up and down with severe chills and sweating, then back to the fevers. Given my prosthetic valve, and my fears of infection, I went right to the hospital. I was admitted with a Dx of Septicemia. Then the Docs went about trying to find the source. No cultures were back, but I was afebrile and pain free today, and so they discharged me. They thought it may have been my herneated discs (infected) and so did MRI's of my entire vertibrae. No infection but today at discharge the doc ordered for me a bone scan of T2, T6 and L1. On the MRI they saw three masses that are either hemangiomas (like big blood clots, but free from any vasculature) vs. metastatic bone disease. So, say a little prayer for me that they find little bloody cling-ons riding on my vertebrae. I think Fran answered you very well on both questions. I believe Digoxin is a Generic name, then the brand names are such as Lanoxin, Digitek etc. They are the same, but you can varify that by looking up PubMeds web site. At Heart Center on Line, you have to be a member to get information I think. On the Sotolol Question. Amiodarone and Sotolol are both Class III Antiarrhythmics. Except for the beta blocker in Sotolol, they act to prolong the action potential duration, which is, on paper the QT interval. I can't remember numbers (duration) but that's for them to worry about. You see your Cardiologist at certain intervals and have an EKG, and they should be always noting your QT interval. Loretta, I imagine you can find that on pubmeds also. Hope you're well, Pam > >
Guest guest
I'll say an extra special prayer for you tonight. You have really been through a lot! I know how agonizing it can be awaiting test results. I am waiting to hear the results of my echo stress. Good luck and thanks for all your knowledgeable posts.
