Guest guest
Hey Readerpal! You and I are surgery buddies. We had ours on the same day. I am sorry that you having such pain. For me, pain occurs when something I ate is stuck. It usually goes away after several hours or by the next day. I would ask your surgeon to do an endoscope on you. With this, the scope goes down your throat into your pouch and can see if there is a blockage possibly caused by a build-up of scar tissue. I wouldn't think they'd be able to see it on a CT scan. Good luck and I hope you are feeling better soon. Jeanne in WI Age 38 Open RNY 05/21/2002 314/ 276.5 /150-175 5' 8 " djgraves@...
Guest guest
Well, you;re getting plenty of calories with Boost. That's what they use in the nursing homes to fatten 'em up. How does water taste? Pain Help!!!! I had my surgery on 5/21/02. I was doing just fine, until recently. I started getting such pain, at both sides of the top of my incision, and my stomach going around to the small of my back. My surgeon did a CT scan, lung scan and blood work and all looks good inside. I started over, with just liquids, taking away the protein drink I had gotten from vitalady. Back to boost, broth, water for 5 days, and then started adding one food a day. The pain is back, and its bad. I take pain med. for it. Even yesterday, I had less than a half can of boost. This I drank is 2 servings, of an hour each, real slow, and the pain started again and it lasts all day, and night. Can someone give me any suggestions? I am getting very little protein and calories. and am very tired of the pain. HELP!!! readerpal

Guest guest
Isopure with water, 1 sc per serving is a good start. Not 2 sc per serving, though. Anything over 30g is wasted. Pain > > > Help!!!! Guest guest
snip Regarding pain, when I feel it I can check my HR and it's almost always on the way up. After another episode, and an EKG (yes, it actually happened while I was in doctor's office), she said take an extra 25mg of Lopressor and gave me an RX for Nitrostat. Was back in NSR within 45 minutes! Yeah! No 4 hour wait in the ER! Debbi
