Guest guest
Hi gang! Just wanted to share my good news with everyone, hopefully it will be an inspiration to those who are struggling or stuck! I started SB on June 28th, 7 weeks ago today. I am definitely overweight, at 5ft, and initially 207 pounds. (Wow, that sounds big when I write it!) I have done Atkins before, realizing that I was addicted to carbs, but didn't think it was very healthy, too much fat, and not enough fruit and vegetables. I lost weight on it, but couldn't maintain, so I stopped dieting all together, and gained even more weight! Somehow, it is sooooo easy to do! Anyway, when I found SB it seemed perfect for me, no "bad carbs", but plenty of fuits and veggies. In the last 7 weeks, I had 2 cheat days, one which I recovered from easily, and the second which led to a full cheat week, so needless to say, cheat days aren't for me. Anyway, as of today, I have lost 20.5 pounds! Woohoo, my first goal was 20 pounds! I am so excited. It is just a beginning, but I am thrilled. I exercise minimally, ie a short walk around the block, or a short bike ride with the kids, but I feel that anything is better than nothing. I drink my coffee with half and half, and I drink diet soda, but I also try to drink lots of water during the day. I am on phase 1.5 as they say, I had an occassional starch, and occassional fruit, but if it is not around, I don't worry about it. I just wanted to let you know this works! I have had times where I haven't lost, during my period, I gain and don't lose for about 7-10 days, but then suddenly, like today, several pounds will fall off once my body is back to normal. So don't get frustrated, and hang in there! We can do this together!!! Amy in VA. 207/186.5/

The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones-and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats.
