I know that my dr told me that it's rare to get it a second time. I had it with my first child and delivered two months early via a c-section. Guest guest
, I have a clotting problem. I've been seeing a specialist and they have run numerous tests. They finally found out I have Lupus which they feel does contribute to the clotting in pregnancy. I was on heparin, prednisone and baby asprin with my last pregnancy to help with the clotting and to possibly help fight the antibody's that are fighting the pregnancy. It's so complicated and hard to explain. But yes I will definitely get pre-clampsia in a next pregnancy. I belong to another support group with woman who have all had PE and the majority have it in all their pregnancies. Guest guest
Stacey, If it would happen to me again, at least I would know what to expect. I would definitely request visitors next time no matter how puffed up or awful I looked. Boredom, inability to sleep and a sore back are what drove me nuts. I had all the time in the world to sleep but every time (mainly in the afternoon) I dozed off, my snoring would jolt me awake. (I was very self conscious of the snoring part.) While in the hospital, my ability to eat diminished with each week. I had so much fluid inside my abdomen that it was taking up the room my stomach occupied. I kept telling the drs there that it was getting harder and harder to breathe (really uncomfortable) but they acted like it was nothing till they thumped on my gut and it sounded like a ripe watermelon ready to burst! Anyway, after it was all over and I was back home, I eventually lost all of the pg weight (about 80 lbs) and then some. (not enough, though!) The drs kept asking me how my vision was but I kinda lied and told them it was fine. Near the end, when I looked at something, it was clear in the middle but started to get blurry around the edges. I knew if I told them that they would keep me in complete hospital bed rest (bedpan, NO WAY!) so I kept my mouth shut. I know, it was stupid. How was your experience with it? What happened? (It's nice to talk to someone that went through it.) Take care, L
