Guest guest
Hubby gave me a " sugar-free " chocolate candy bar the day after Thanksgiving. It was in squares like the Hersey bars. I ate one square that day and since then have been eating one square every few days. This candy bar lasted me until yesterday when I ate the last two squares. Hubby gave me two more bars of this chocolate for Christmas. Anyone want to guess how long these two will last me!!!!!!! My will-power is stronger than my " wants " . Guest guest
Eunice, Your will power is great, good for you! Mine waxes and wanes.... I bought a 200gm bar of my favourite chocolate several weeks ago. I broke it up into the little squares and put it all in a container in the fridge. I have only had maybe 3 or 4 squares in that time, I think that's pretty good. However, Christmas food was another story. I ate lots that I shouldn't have, but I tell myself that if its a meal its not as bad as snacking all the time like I used to. Unfortunately someone gave me a box of chocolates for Christmas. I was a little disappointed that they would do this knowing that I am diabetic. My fiancé and I had a few each last night...I am hoping to get visitors that will eat the rest. The same with biscuits/cookies. I haven't had any in the house since diagnosis 3.5 months ago but I bought a Christmas hamper and it had box of assorted biscuits. I opened them last night too. I hope I get some visitors soon as I am not sure I can be strong... Alison in New Zealand where it is a beautiful summer day.
Guest guest
Hi. When someone buys you some chocolates or other things not on your diabetic diet, I don't think they do that to be malicious - most people just don't understand the chemistry of diabetes, and they probably think you can eat it without any or much harm. As far as hoping someone will stop by and eat the chocolates - just throw them away, and you won't be longing for them. Have a good one.
