Guest guest
Hello all I just looked at my yogurt and saw that it has Fructose added with the Aspartame. Fructose, which is a natural sugar occurring in fruit, is often added to foods for diabetics since it is seen as a "simple" sugar. (My friend's sister has Type I and her doctor has her keep fructose packets with her for emergencies since he says that fructose is better than table sugar because it's a shorter chain -- have no clue what that means but it's what he says.) Check the front of the Yogurt and see if it lists fructose, if it does that's where your sugar count is coming from. best There is natural sugar in dairy (lactose) so that could be what it's referring to. Milk will also list the grams of sugar per serving, even though there is no added sugar. Is there any kind of sugar listed in the ingredients? question re; yogurt Is this strange to find on a yogurt label or is it just me?? Guest guest
the ingredients in this yogurt are: modified milk ingredients, strawberries, modifed corn starth, bananas, gelatin, natural flavor aspartame, sodium. I was wondering if this yogurt could be included in low fat dairy, or if I would have to count it towards 75 cal or less sweet treat for the day > There is natural sugar in dairy (lactose) so that could be what it's referring to. Guest guest
What phase are you in? This yogurt would be more appropriate for Phase 2 due to the fruit. I am a bit unsure about the corn starch in it. But, if this is the only one you can find... it would be OK. And, yogurt counts towards your lowfat dairy.
