the recommended vitamins and doses are as follows:

beta carotene 10-25,000 iu bid

vit c 1,000 mg bid

vit E 400-800 iu bid-tid (I'm on 1000 iu bid)

alpha lipoic acid 200 mg tid (I'm on 250 mg tid)

coenzyme q-10 200 mg tid

creatine 2.5 gms bid

note bid is twice a day

tid is three times a day.

Thanks for the recommended vitamins. This really

helps, especially since it has the amounts and how

often. I'll take this list to my neuro and internist

on my next appt. and discuss this with them.

I currently take 200mg CoQ10 with 100 IU Vit E in a

chewable wafer. There has been some discussion about

how effective CoQ10 is in different forms and that the

gel capsules might be better than tablets, due to the

delivery system (oil). Do you know anything about

this? I think the wafers should have a decent

delivery system, but don't really know.

Also, I don't mean to sound dumb, but.... 200 x

2(twice a day) of CoQ10, for a total of 400mg per day?

Or 100mg x 2 = total of 200mg per day? I always get

confused on this one.

I'm pretty cautious about what, and how much, I take

because my liver disease. I consider it secondary to

my PLS, though don't care to abuse it and make it my

primary condition. It is hard to find out how drugs or

supplements might complicate other conditions. Most

of the info is available, but you really have to

search for it. Sometimes, it isn't available, so

then you have to decide if the risk is worth taking.

My internist searched to see if oral baclofen had any

liver complications back when I first started taking

it. He didn't find any, but my neuro was aware that

baclofen can, on rare occasions, cause liver problem.

So now I have an intrathecal baclofen pump.

oops... I actually take 200 mg three times a day

(total of 600 mg per day) with meals. I take both the

capsule co q and vit e that way they are absorbed

better with meals.

I was wrong, it is Weight Smart, not weight loss as I first stated. One A

Day brand has nearly 100% of everything. In fact, everything except Calcium

and Magnesium. What this Weight Smart has in addition is from green tea; it

is EGCG (from Green Tea extract, Camilla sinensis leaf) according tot he

bottle.

This has 125% RDA of B1, B2, B6, and B12, as well as chromium and others.

I have mostly used this brand in the " For Women " sub package for many years.

Some times I took Centrum just because, maybe it is on sale of something.

What ingredient in these one a day weight loss vitamins is suposed to " speed

up " the metabolism?? Most ppl who are losing weight need extra vitamins,

especially the b ones. Some other things will help one to be healthier,

like green tea extract(helps digestion), etc.

What is in the One-a-Day vitamins for weight loss that's supposed to speed

metabolism?

I've seen these in the grocery store but don't know of anyone who's taking them.
