Guest guest
I have heard that all adult coconuts comming into this country (USA) are irradiated even if they are organic. And if they are baby coconuts then they are treated with a chemical that I can't recall to mind att his time. Now, naturaly this poses a problem. However I was wondering, is it just the coconuts that are irradiated or is all cocnut oil and soforth irradiated as well upon it's entrance in the country. Any idea how or were to get sources or real unirradiated coconuts in the US? -Charlie

Buy the young green coconuts with the green shell still on and husk them yourself. -- " Who loves not women, wine and song remains a fool his whole life long. Guest guest
I understood that all the Green Coconuts have a herbicide in the husk and that you want to be careful about opening them. My food coop flies in coconuts from Thailand directly to avoid the herbicide. They are expensive though. I think it is required for ocean shipping? It was my understanding the herbicide is problematic for the young green coconuts that have been de-husked (which is the way they are usually sold). If you get them with their green shells intact supposedly they are okay. -- " Who loves not women, wine and song remains a fool his whole life long. Guest guest
If this is true, then what does this mean regarding all of the coconut oil that we have bought? Is that all Irradiated junk now to?... scary thought but... worth asking. > > I have heard that all adult coconuts comming into this country (USA) > are irradiated even if they are organic.
