Guest guest
Hi cindyh I am like you - when I get chilled I have to warm up my whole body to get back to the right temperature. I have noticed since I started using this that my skin does not do that thing where the skin aches from fluctuating temperatures as much. I have not had a bone freezing night since I got the mattress heater. I had heard (read) others here on the list using it and it is worth it. It sounds like it might be just the thing for your sad hips. Whatever touches the mattress is what gets the warmest; so that it does not heat what does not touch it - really great for the joints. Since the pillows come in contact with the pad they heat up as well - so when you flip them over they are warm. They don't stay that way -- just long enough to conk out at night. The pad has controls, mine has one control with settings up to 25. I keep mine between 11 and 13. It shuts itself off after 11 hours and it cools itself off when it touches air. (not sure if I am describing this correctly) There were some king sized ones with two controls so that you could control your side of the matterss. The one I got ran about $50 and had a three year warranty on it. One thing I did notice is that I sometimes kick off all my blankets when it gets too warm and caught my first cold that I have gotten in a very long time. > > Subject: Re: Great Ideas for People With Special Needs/mattress heater-AJ > > Hi AJ, > When you mentioned the mattress heater, I remembered having seen an ad for > one.
