Guest guest
Hi all....... Wellllllllll........I am on day 11 of Phase 2, and I am not having insane cravings all the time like I was in Phase I. I took someone's advice in here, and stepped up the fruit intake rather quickly........I also added in small helpings (1/2 cup) of low fat vanilla ice cream (with fruit and my homemade granola for toppings).........and I am losing 1 pound every 2 days. I was STUCK at the 6 pound mark on Phase I.....but now I'm seeing the pounds drop. It seems my metabolism is working beautifully with the fruit added back in, especially the super-food-blueberries, as well as the one piece of sourdough bread every day. And THIS is without feeling like I'm going insane from wanting more carbs! I'm less crabby now too. The three things I am avoiding like the plague are rice, potatoes and sodas. I drank 1-2 Dr. Peppers daily since I was a kid.......never thought I could kick it.....but I DON'T EVEN MISS IT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! I love my sport tea, water, and morning coffee. I don't miss the potatoes either........but I DO sometimes miss lime rice in Chipotle burritos. Rice is soooooooooo high on the glycemic index, that it's frightening. I also haven't even gotten back into corn........even though my daughter cooked up some fresh ears the other night. The granola I made is an old yummy recipe of mine with rolled oats, wheat bran, wheat germ, whole grain cereal, honey and slivered almonds. I left out the raisins even though I love them. It takes a few hours to make with all the stirring every 15 minutes, and baking at a low temp. It is such a lifesaver.......and filled with GOOD stuff. Oh....and by the way.......the forgetfulness has lifted! I swear I was getting a form of dementia from all the blood sugar issues. Now that I'm not slamming sugar all day long........I've gotten my brain back!!! I am thrilled with the SBD....it is the ONLY way of eating I have ever found that I can live with.........just like Agaston says! Thanks for sticking with me guys........you are such a tremendous help to me! Janice in Denver
Guest guest
Oh.......I am ending day 25 on SBD........11th day of Phase 2.........and so far I have lost about 10 pounds.......my goal is 15 to lose my "belly." As I said, I have my BRAIN back again........not clouded anymore, but sharp again.........and not so terrified now to get the testing done for suspected (pre) diabetes.
