Guest guest
Get one of those mini cooler lunch bags, freeze some water bottles and use them for your coldness. You can then take cheese and lunchmeats too, and you won't have to ask the stewart for water. As for at your parents, make sure you are reading the labels. The dressing needs to be under 3 grams of sugar, fat count is ok but don't go over- board there. Eat those veggies! Take the kids for a walk or to the park to keep your mind off food. Drink water all the time while your there. Don't eat any of the pasta, potatoes, or bread that is with any meal. And above all even if you do cheat, get right back on SBD the very next time you put something in your mouth. Don't wait until you get home to repair any damage. wrote: Im going to be flying east in 2 weeks. One of our flights will be 6hrs straight through. What in earth will keep that long for snacks? I can take some walnuts/almonds...perhaps this might be a good time to make some trail mix. I know that Im not going to able to stay 100% true to WOE as I would not expect to put my parents out by having to purchase special items for me. I know that there will be lots of fresh veggies, but everything thing else will likely be regular fat (ie salad dressings,pb etc)Im so scared to go off track and not be able to get back on when I return home. Im also scared of eating something prohibited and getting sick from it, now that my digestive system has become accustomed to eating healthy foods. Im also dreading travelling alone with 2 small children. My youngest is 2 1/2 and Im sure this trip will hard on her...Well I better get the lunch dishes done.Take care,Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. Guest guest
Sounds like you are going to Europe with that long flight. In addition to ’s advice on snacks, you might also want to take some little games/toys for the children to occupy their time. Also, be aware, the ascent and descent part of the flight can cause pain to the children’s ears. Yawning is very important during this period of the flight also chewing gum helps if your children can do that. I’ve heard many a baby/little child crying on the ascent and descent part of a flight because of ear pressure. If the kids have any sign of nasal stuffiness or a cold, call you doctor to get something for them for decongestant as being congested can cause additional ear problems. Darlene BTW I’ve lost another lb, so now I’m only 3 lbs from goal weight. wrote: Im going to be flying east in 2 weeks. One of our flights will be 6hrs straight through. Guest guest
Thanks Darlene...I will get some Freedent gum for them to chew on, during departure and decent. My oldest has dental applicances in her mouth and hasn't been allowed any gum so this will be a special treat. We are flying from Alberta to Nova Scotia. Our first flight is a little under an hr but the second is 6hrs. > > Im going to be flying east in 2 weeks. One of our flights will be > 6hrs straight through.
